RE: Fao BarrelsandBonds -Risk29 Mar 2021 18:03
Putting generational events to one side, I can see two possible, albeit highly unlikely, issues that may stymie this company. One is a (sizeable) fall in the price of copper. Simply retracing by ten per cent in the short term won't have an impact but a sustained drop probably would. Having said that, why would copper, which is in short supply and for which demand is only going one way, suddenly go off a cliff? The second one would be an explosion at the mine but if you choose not to invest on that basis then your money is better off in your piggy bank. I suppose something dreadful could happen to the new CEO but I would refer you to the previous point. Any investing has a degree of risk but then so did putting your money in Northern Rock. Sit back, relax, top up next week if you have funds to do so or at the very least engage in a bit of 'Bed and ISA'. By summer's end we will be having a different discussion although alas it won't be about where we went on our holidays.
