The Isle of Wight “biosphere” needs water!
Southern water are pumping too much out of the River Test. So they have proposed building a desalination plant very close to Fawley and it will use as much electric as the Isle of Wight! ..... and it will pump all the waste brine into the shallows of the Solent.

The brine containing IRO 2,600 tons of salt /day discharged into the sea based on 3% salt

The location of intake & discharge pipes will be in the Solent that has Sites of Scientific interest [SSI], Wetlands of International Importance [Ramsar], Special Areas of Conservation (SACs) contain marine habitats or species of European importance. Special Protection Areas (SPAs) contain populations of particular species of birds of European importance that depend on the marine environment.

Angus were producing waste water that only 1 place up North would accept .. I don’t know what the content of that was but I believe it had to be incinerated.

HH produced water goes to Avonmouth. The quantity of produced water is not one of water to one of oil...
I agree it is a cost but you exaggerated the case wildly...

UKOGs consultation period has ended. I believe the EA do not put a matter to consultation until the EA are happy, then they give the public a chance to scrutinize the docs to spot any oversight.

I did read a number of the responses and some of them were ..... ..... very misguided...
Thinking the EA and the council were the same thing....

I don’t think you should give advice based on less than half the info. The counter to that is they could turn up with the pilot drill and also IOW planning could be on 27th April.

I was surprise to see how. Well Turkey is doing in GDP terms. Rising in the GDP ranks to 11th just behind UK and France.

My Bosch fridge is not German but made in Turkey! Doing business in Turkey isa darn sight easier than Surrey ( and the rest of the UK )

I will add the caveat. Absolutely nothing is dead cert in any planning committee on any planning decision.

IOW planning changed status from consultation to “Awaiting Decision” which means all the discussion with Island roads and the other statutory consultees should be over.
So unless someone puts another stick in the wheel this should go to the next committee meeting on April 27th.
