Whilst hitting oil is a gamble , the odds are better in Turkey
Firstly the region has not been explored extensively like the UK. So there are more chances of a missed play
( I can think of 5 wells with 12 miles of my home)

The cost per well is 1/3 that if the . Or you get three wells for the price of one.
The speed is 1/5th of the uk regulatory system
And if you ever wanted to lay a pipeline 70 miles to Batman it would cost 1/10th that to lay one from HH to Fawley across Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire
It would be laid before you had been to the first planning meeting!

The reason it’s an exploration well, it they believe there is a missed oil play, over and above the oil found.
Although I get the point it’s an appraisal well if you “discover” another seam of oil. Then there is an exploration element too.

What would I do differently.
Firstly every decision is taken at that time, with the info available at that time.

I would not try to topple the board as we are about to spud Turkey.
I am not qualified to recruit a supermarket worker , let alone a CFO. &CEO.

Historically , I would not tolerate the Surrey planning fiasco over every single planning condition . I would have appealed on non-determination and unreasonable unnecessary planning conditions.

I would have dumped the planning consultants years ago.

I would not have purchased all that kit from PW wells at that price and the numbers of shares issued multiplied the price 3 fold.

There are expensive bits of kit clearly purchased by SS bespoke at HH
WTF are they for , how much did they cost, what would they sell for? What’s the plan for them ?

None of us know the full picture, the regulatory status with EA, OGA, planning.

I realise that, which is why I kept quiet for two weeks.
But they have the brainpower behind £3m+ of share holders and two or three weeks.

I don’t usually snipe from the sidelines. But on this occasion it is justified.
I’m usually the team builder.

So since 17:00 Sunday and my posts last night we have changed from a panel of 5 share holders to 3 share holders and 2 others.

They only decided to have a forward plan after comments on this board
They failed to identify the key risks and changes themselves, it just proves my point!

They then need a list of 15 for each posted a short list of 3 per post
They need to identify the skills needed,
They need to find 3 candidates with matching aims and direction.
They need to transition ? Oil to hydrogen and or geothermal?
Uk or world ?
Finance..
Revenue
Bonus?
Incentives
Regulation.
Experience

Known knowns, and Un-known Knowns.

Then there is diversity , equality ... on the panel and board?
I don’t think it is a job for 5 untrained shareholders

Who selects the five shareholders?
What qualifications do the five share holders have in interviewing.
What knowledge do they have in oil and finance?
Who will be your replacement qualified person in oil?
What Salary package are you going to advertise?

Any candidate worth their salt would wrap your panel up for lunch

How do you know the panel won’t create a board that does not comply with aim regs.

Penguins , if you did some research ( cough ) you would know that you are very welcome to invest in Turkey. But you have to use local staff and companies.
