I really wonder when it dropped that saliva was problematic?
I remember seeing some Research results that indicated saliva gave best results over swab collection.
So the starting premise was wrong.
With the wrong starting point all the Cytiva enhancements would have been difficut.
We would have gone down a cul-de-sac without knowing it!
Imagine, the frustration must have been immense.
I really feel for Sir Al and the team now!!

The tweet from Professor Deeks gives a rough indication of the performance of the Avacta LFT.
Why? Because, Avacta could not get it's affimer LFT to switch on either at the Ct levels quoted in the Deeks tweet.
I will leave further comment to the more scientific minded on here, but that's my conclusion!!

Now grouped by viral load

Sensitivity for direct saliva is
94% if Ct<25; 71% if 25<=Ct<33; 13% if Ct>=33,

compared to
100% if Ct<25, 95% if 25<=Ct<33; 74% if Ct>=33
for RNA extracted swabs.

Saliva was identified as "challenging" by Sir Al. Now I understand why!!
I just don't understand why this was not identified earlier?
Unfortunately, we should have adopted a belt and braces approach and mirrored what others were doing. So easy with hindsight!!
No matter, we are where we are!

Is announcement expected this week?
Looking at other bid award notifications it would appear not. A large additional delay seems to occur before bidstats acknowledgment of winner of a particular tender!

Cause Seadoc is short and I am long.
It was a tongue in cheek comment!

The losses were not in Syme.With anticipation of gains from covid opportunities (NCYT), I sold long term losing positions before April 5th 2020.
I have subsequently reinvested profits from NCYT and RMS to SYME. As such gains are reasonable!
Majority is in ISA but I decided to top up when Syme was in low 0.35p region. This top up was outside the ISA wrapper!!
If SYME does what LTH hope (sorry Seadoc), then gains outside the ISA wrapper are going to accrue!
Hence, the question!!

Have maxed out Syme ISA contributions and had to buy some Syme shares in a standard share account. Last year had some losses. Can one offself last years losses with this years gains? What's the process and more importantly the time for declaring capital losses for offset?

I avoided the angst by sending them to the "green coffin".
Ultimately, you are responsible for profit/loss of your portfolio. What I found is reading "irrelevance" is to time consuming. It distracts you from your own research and other money making opportunities. That's what my priority is as an investor!
Research is the key to better decision making. That's what I decided to focus on.
The green coffin approach works for me as the same boxes appear in other share BB's on lse!!
I can then avoid all the clutter, focus and ultimately get on with my priorities.
Try it, it works!
