Stop all this guff about market makers stealing shares, FTSE 250 and larger shares are traded in SETS. The reasonit its going down is it i not valued and investors are accepting a lower price to sell.

400p + average crikey. Not holding here anymore but keep an eye on it. I remember allied gold got taken over after its value more than halved but even the take over price would have forced me out at a loss. Lost a huge amount on gold shares so if in doubt stay out.

nothing i can see, its like shares go in freefall once they are ex div nowadays.

You can't call a bottom here really every day its a new 52 week low pretty much. I'm still bearish on gold short term and this will go with it. I will look for a trend reversal in metal prices before i buy any more miners. GLA

ABG or POG talk about caught between the devil and the deep blue sea!! I wouldn't touch either with a barge pole now, but POG has a lot of debt this dosent, plus it's still owned 74% by barrick one of the worlds larget gold miners.

How do you know they wont cut the divi? A div that high for a commodity share spells trouble, it means the sp has collapsed, ABG and a lot of gold miners could be in a fight for survival if the gold price continues to decline only the lower operating cost miners will survive.

I think the Cyprus gold sale is a bit of a red herring they dont have enough gold to flood the market to cause this recent collapse. Its a mad mad world, im tired of trying to make sense of it, but sorry for people who have lost money on these awful shares.

Well I bought into the whole gold as a hedge against inflation argument as well. I believe the inflation will come as a result of QE but not yet when the world economy finally sorts itself out. Inflation hasn't really kicked off yet because the economy is so desperately weak theres no demand for materials. This seems to be a never ending and cruel recession. It cost me a good well paid job back in 2009 and although have found employment i now earn what i was earning in the year 2000. 13 years of wage regression. Thankyou very much Gordon Brown and all the others who stoked up the biggest financial collapse in living memory. They make Bernie Madoff look like an amateur for the amount of wealth destruction this has caused, sorry rant over!

Well more of a gut feeling than anything else, still lost a bundle on this but at least i cant lose any more. I'm staying the hell out of precious metal miners far too much manipulation going on. The whole sector is getting trashed completely like the banks in the summer of 2011.

Unlikely anyone knows the production figures before they are released, usually ABG has a 10% sale on quaterly results. Not back in here yet, Precious metal metal miners have erased my money faster than mervyn can print it. ATB.

Thrown the towel in this morning with a big loss, ive been patient enough but the dividend is now to high for any miner and if they cut it or suspend it it will get another massive correction (down) not up

Well lets hope so but calling a bottom on this has caught out a lot of canny traders, A lot of it is sector driven as even the parent company Barrick has tanked to 52 week lows. We need some good news from somewhere to stop this rot.
