Well Tanzania has been relatively stable politically, I remember once ABG agreed to pay a higher royalty to the government some years back. At 90p this would be valued at cash in bank only so that would be absurd, remember it has no debt. However what is clear there is no market love for ABG right now but sense will surely prevail and send this back to 250p+ at some point but maybe the days of 400p are gone. Greg Hawkins bought 20000 @ 235p so he's now down 8.4k on that deal and he would more know about the company than any of us on here.

Has this company really lost over 30% of its value in just under 2 months? Has it's gold reserves been slashed by 30%% No. It shows how far this has fallen when 13.5p is a 6.5 % drop, back in the good old days a 6.5% drop was about 30p!!! so at least in real terms it's no as bad (sounding desperate i know now!)

If you dont mind me asking what i your average price on these? Mine is 276 in 2 tranches of 340 and 240p thought the last buy was cheap!!

Thanks, its true resources stocks have been on downer lately but one of my worries is inflation caused by QE. My thinking is commodities like oil and metal prices will rise with a devalued currency maybe im too simple?! Ok ABG has been a dog but i've been here before in this share so its my own fault im here again. Also holding a lot of glencore and shell as i figure when the euro collapses prople will still need commodites, oil, wheat, soya whatever i dont like banking shares one bit been there and got burned. Maybe one day my strategy will come good who knows.

Those are all very good points, if the rot really has set in then best to keep out alltogether. Look at POG in terminal decline and one false bottom after another. Maybe private investors should keep away from these sorts of shares I know i will i dont earn enough money to just throw it away !

Well at these depressed prices Barrick have no right to want the initial floatation price. I would gladly take 275p just to get out of this horrible mess right now. I have emailed the investor relations person at ABG wanting some answers over the recent sharp decline, as tabes said the last report was bad but that should be all in the price weeks ago.

I not sure what to do i am in shock at this. I cant see anything wrong with the company to cause such a sharp fall. Dont know whats wrong gold price has not collapsed.

In bank is 360million divided by shares in issue is 88p. So in theory i cant go lower than 88p even if you value all of the gold reserves in the ground , mined gold yet to be sold, equipment and machinery at big fat £0.00p mind you knowing this dog anything is possible

You obviously have a wealth of experience in trading markets maybe i can be forgiven a little as i wasnt born in 1974 so i have much learning to do yet! :) However as you said tops and bottoms are for lunatics so us long suffering holders may have more pain yet.

Gold over $1600 per ounce now thought this might have gone up a bit . Just have to keep reminding myself share price has nothing to do with value... Untill you need to sell of course :)

haha thanks for sharing that story! Another poor day for all resources stocks , precious metal and base metals at least i haven't got any Kazakhymys shares. Can't believe the Cyprus banking issue can can have such a bearing on metal mining stocks, there must be another reason.
