I fully agree that an RNS from the company is required urgently. The market needs to be officially informed of Barrick's evidently advanced negotiations with "the Chinese" asap.
That said, isn't the current situation a marvellous buy opportunity? ACA shares are still cheap as chips, and if this deal comes off they are only moving one way, and that is up.

Not quite sure what this comment by Dr. Forster means:
"The association with en-echelon zones of quartz veining mean that the Company may elect to consider these as selective rather than bulk mining targets."
If Telekedougou can't be bulk mined, does it have any real commercial value? Any ideas, anybody?

There is a huge difference between BCN and EMH!
IMO, Sonora will happen eventually; the basic mathematics (IRR/NPV) are too appealing. Yes, a lot of capital has to be raised to build the plant, and that's not easy (as we have learnt the hard way!). And, yes, a major may well take BCN over at some point. But I'm confident that finally, one way or another, Sonora happens. And that means, finally, that anybody buying in at these prices will walk away with a decent profit, or better. The only question is how long they have to wait for it.
Cinovec, I'm not so confident ever happens. The PFS was truly lousy (an IRR of 21%, nobody gets out of bed for that). And since then, a whole shedload of political problems, not helped by amateurish management and a terrible cash flow situation. Of course a short term bet on EMH may pay off. But in the long term, IMO it will go to zero. Like many other badly thought out lithium projects.

Hopefully the bounce will continue this morning. This share was way oversold!
(I'm not saying we'll get back to 80p without some financing developments, let alone back to 140p. But it's puzzling why this ever dropped so low.)

Gold is at $1,205 per ounce this morning, and seemingly has found a bottom. I understand that's not as good as $1,350 per ounce, and also that fuel and other costs have risen. But, all the same, Centamin is a low cost producer. If they hit their revised production target, they should still make a pretty decent profit!
IMO, the current situation isn't the end of the world, just a normal market down dip.

No, Colonel, I don't know of a date announced for the interim results. Last year they were released on 27th September. However, Hummingbird are presenting at a Proactive Investors evening on the 20th September, so I'm guessing they will be released early next week, before then.
Whatever else, the interim results should make good reading - the balance sheet here is growing stronger every week. Even at $1,200 gold Hummingbird are making $400 free cash flow per ounce!

Oddly, the page only seems to work when you access it from a computer, and not from a mobile device...

Market cap currently only 55m pounds. That's pretty silly for a project of this magnitude. Personally, I'd expect that fact alone to be enough for a reasonable bounce.
All in all, Sonora has to be ripe for a takeover by a major now.

What caused that? - Leak? Or was this share just due for a bounce?

I read the GLR RNS published this morning as very positive for JLP's Kabwe project.
As Chairman of GLR, I don't think Colin Bird would have made this deal if he wasn't confident that JLP was going ahead with their plans for Kabwe - for the GLR deal really depends on JLP building the Zinc plant.
So, I'm expecting good news about Kabwe here very shortly!

S&P lowered its zinc forecast for this year and next, from an assumed $3200/t for the rest of 2018 to $2,800/t, and from $3,000/t to $2,800/t in 2019.

It said the revision reflected its expectation for higher supply amid "relatively tepid" demand growth and said global inventories had expanded after falling for more than two years.

"Moreover, we believe zinc prices at $2,800/t are close to the marginal cost of production for about 75% of zinc producers globally," S&P said.

Today's RNS is good news, I think - unless you hold BMR shares, that is (in which I case I'm sorry for you). Certainly, GLR are paying much money for the assets.
But both Star Zinc and the new Kashitu zinc deposit are dependent on JLP building the zinc processing plant at Kabwe. We're still waiting on their plans for that, so for now, I'll keep watching GLR from the outside.
BTW, does anybody know what happened to the Glenover phosphates deal? Wasn't it meant to confirm by the middle of summer? Is is still on, or has it been quietly dropped?

IMO, quite possibly his best poem. This is the bit I love:

There is, I think, an interesting short term trade opportunity here. Buy today at about 26.2p, wait for the interim results (which we know should be good), and possibly the Q2 production results as well, and sell on the bounce at about 30p. Of course, there is risk involved in this trade, especially if the gold price drops further. However, overall, I think the risks are fairly low, and the chance of a rapid 15% gain quite high.
Anyway, I've put some of my trading pot in here on this basis - separate from my long term holding, of course.

The fear of a placing is the only reason I can think of for the SP drop back.
There will be a placing, eventually, of course. Next year's drilling campaign must be paid for somehow. But, that said, I don't see why it should be at a big discount to the current SP. The drill results are good at both Sanankoro and Telekedougou, and Cora are clearly making valuable progress.
I'd very much like to see Hummingbird maintain their current % holding (or even increase it) in the placing. (I write that as a shareholder in Hummingbird, more than as a shareholder in Cora).

This is how public procurement works - it's really a pretty significant RNS.
