I remember when the debt refinancing was agreed, the syndicated debt holders get a say on investments as part of the terms. They will not sanction silly moves...even if the money is from equity holders. The article we all read in the media glazed over the fact that there are much better financed players interested in the assets. The fact PMO operates in the north sea and has tax losses is always going to connect PMO with the deal. The RNS basically said nothing, literally nothing has been decided...its such a common theme in oil stocks for the RI rumour to surface...you have to be able to live with it.

Zama news could get us moving again but really it's totally right for us all to question the moves when it doesn't seem right.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I would say is...we all have a right to grumble at flat oil and 3.5% sp dip. I also don't understand why they wouldn't just close the short to lock in profit...needless complexity generally indicates something afoot.

Not IMO, I think the Chevron rumour has really held this back last month....for the record in my opinion it would be insane to tap shareholders for equity at this price and I can't see them outbidding the rivals that were mentioned anyway - so expect it to blow over. Someone's point about needing about 20 debt holders approval for investments was a good one - anything that got approved by all of them would have a compelling investment case. So really don't see much risk from that.

Cfds are usually cash settled and do not have voting rights attached I thought. Very interested to learn what this is about. Would company tell us?

Would like to hear the thoughts of any professional traders out there on what exactly they are doing with these cfds. Any clue?

Out of interest, does anyone know the % of revenue that comes from gas? Trying to work out sensitivity to gas prices.

I know PMO is leveraged but even I am bemused by the size of the share price drop today - I am not sure human beings trade oil or oil stocks anymore. Just seems illogical to be selling down oil with so many supply restrictions looming IMO. And this bounce after close in POO as well makes it a bit of a joke really. The media has pinned the sell off today on growth jitters - I can tell you this, neither Trump nor Jinping will want to be remembered for crashing their respective economies - deal will be struck - for me the market has totally misjudged the supply side of the equation or placed too much faith in Shale filling the gap. I expect Brent to be trading > 70 within 3-6 months...DYOR

Drop is way overdone in my opinion. Tempted to open a long here, there is always some adjustment needed to get acquisitions fully bedded in. Not sure there is much elasticity in demand for Vets - brexit or no brexit animals need care.

Thanks for the calc Ocelot, I must admit I was taking the yahoo figures at face value, however I did include the source so I hope I was transparent in a way regardless.

The point I was making is, given this discount to the NAV that is reflected in the current price, there must be a reason.

It's still 30 as I look now. Specifically I'm looking at the statistics tab of genel on yahoo finance. Perhaps it's using book value for last audited accounts or something. Apologies if I was wrong. Did seem very low.

As per Yahoo Finance 28/01

The P/B above implies to me that Genel's development of its resources is lagging - the Chevron deal was a move in the right direction, but I think whoever mentioned that the gas is the key hit the nail on the head. They need to unlock the value in that for this to really motor IMO. Not sure why else share is trading on such a low P/B - unless there are more reasons to discount it such as political risk or shrinking production.

When the Saudi cuts come through and the Iran waivers expire I expect POO to jump to about 70usd.

This is finely balanced at the moment. What with the short positions driving down the price in the last few months, MA circling and looking to make a play and a load of the debt being snapped up by US hedge funds...there are clearly a lot of parties that want to get their hands on this company one way or another. Why is that you may ask - quite simply - it is very undervalued at this price IMO. The risk is whether some party succeeds to the private investors detriment. If a fair value is paid this is a multi bagger from here...
