Interesting what the IC article said about the spin-off valuations, saying that although they are difficult to value “FinnCap have given it a stab, valuing them at £60mn, or almost the same as hVIVO’s entire market capitalisation.”
But it does beg the question, what was CF thinking of when we he said that DIM would be monetised by Christmas 2020 and then in the New Year and then Spring……
I re-listened to a Shares interview on the 16th December 2020 where CF acknowledged it wouldn’t happen by Christmas that year but said it was imminent. This is some of what he said -
“I think people are getting impatient waiting on an answer on wearables. So bear with us. We're not far away. We have a lot of wearable companies now because we do have the world's largest database of infectious disease progression data. I'd be surprised if we are not announcing a number of deals in that space. And that's a number of deals, because your new arrivals, your smartwatch, wants to tell you what's wrong with you. We've got the data, we've been infecting people for 15 years…….. I would imagine we'll have a number of wearable deals in quick succession as we get into the new year.”
Those of us who watched CF’s presentations in 2020 will remember CF and his “beep, beep, beep” description of a smart device notifying the wearer of flu, COVID etc.
I appreciate that now the market is very unconducive to getting IPOs off the ground. But Jeez CF you didn’t half spin us some blarney over the last two years.
