I am also invested in both AVCT & HVO. If Avacta’s lead programme is clinically proven to reduce the side effects of an existing, commonly used cancer drug (Doxorubicin) then it will be absolutely massive. It also has many strings to its bows. Not one for widows or orphans but it is a very exciting company.

I guess part of the answer to your question is that Avacta regularly and actively update their shareholders on progress whilst Imutex flies under the radar of most investors. To the extent that HVO have (at least temporarily) attributed zero value to their 49% share in the company.

Hi Digger, headline prostate study results were confirmed, in last week’s presentation, as being on target for the end of the year. Knowing AGL’s timelines that will probably be sometime in 2024 :)

Morning HallsWorthy, I was also considering if the Nomad might have requested some clarification on the spin-offs, especially in light of the impending PrEP Biopharm solvent liquidation. The spin-offs had been in a sort of limbo state for some time and perhaps it couldn’t go on indefinitely without some form of a statement?

Totally agree TheSoundMan. CF blew his credibility for me a while back with his hot air. I much prefer the Mo approach.

I know what you mean Si. Having listened to all of CF’s presentations from 2020 onwards, the mothballing of DIM is disappointing but not unexpected. He didn’t half talk some rubbish back then.

I’m glad we have Mo at the helm now.

To put the recent SP rises into some sort of context, we are still down YTD
- 50.28% and over one year -74.49% (source London Stock Exchange)

But it does feel as though there has been a huge change in momentum and sentiment. I was very encouraged by the presentation. The future is looking a lot more positive than it was a few weeks ago. It really feels as though we have turned a corner.

Mikey, AGL have previously RNS’d three contracts (so not many) and they have all given some indication of anticipated revenue.

I am delighted that AGL have announced a new customer but it is tempered by the fact that it is the first contract RNS announcement since June 2022 and there is no value guidance. We were warned in the January business update that even though revenue for this year is expected to show “strong growth” it is “likely to be materially below current market expectations.” I sadly don’t think the prelim results are going to reveal anything much significant to get the SP out of the doldrums. Anything of material consequence would have had to be disclosed.

Disappointing is a massive understatement, and depending on what AN has to say at the results presentation, a potentially hard decision for me to make on whether to stay invested. As a LTH it is a tough one because I am sitting on a substantial loss and I had high hopes for what the company could achieve.

My point is that AN views ctDNA & CTC analysis as complementary to each other.

They have designed a workflow that “allows combining CTC isolation using the Parsortix® system with plasma removal for subsequent ctDNA analysis from a single tube of blood, opening the possibility for clinical laboratories to broaden the potential clinical utility of their assays and limiting the overall blood volume requirement.”

The “subsequent ctDNA analysis” would be performed by a third party platform. “This opens the possibility for clinical laboratories to broaden the clinical utility of their assays and maximise the value of each patient's sample. Despite the emerging realisation of the benefit of a combinatorial approach to blood analysis, the logistics revolving around access to both a CTC enrichment platform and a ctDNA sequencing platform at the same site has so far limited such analysis. ANGLE believes there will be significant demand from biopharma companies for an assay that combines ctDNA and CTCs. The workflow presented, demonstrating effective CTC isolation utilising the Parsortix system with concurrent removal of plasma for ctDNA analysis, puts ANGLE in a highly competitive position in this emerging arena.”

Sorry to butt in chaps, it’s sort of on the same topic. AGL did a study that “aimed to establish a workflow to allow the isolation of both ctDNA and CTCs from a single blood sample.” Note the comment “ANGLE believes there will be significant demand from biopharma companies for an assay that combines ctDNA and CTCs.” Just thought it might be of interest. CtDNA has a been a subject that has cropped up on the boards today.
