Yeah i don't think that one divvyup mentioned applies to us, our agreement is with SGS who have no part in the trial mentioned so not sure we would benefit from that.

This is from the SGS update:

SGSC is actively engaged in commercial discussions with appropriate global and regional pharmaceutical companies, with the objective of outright sale, partnership in future development or securing funding for the additional clinical studies necessary to get this to market. Ideally AZD1656 would be evaluated in broader non-diabetic patient populations, both hospitalised patients and those at higher risk of hospitalisation due to underlying health conditions. Despite the unknowns around the evolution of the pandemic, SGSC believes that AZD1656 has the potential to generate significant long-term revenue.

My question is if this drug is a life saver then why 6 months on from positive results is nothing happening? It clearly needs further development/trials but it has been sat on a shelf for 6 months since results?

The market clearly doesn't think commercialisation will happen, our SP proves that and if you look at CIZ SP there is no belief there either. Just got to wait and hope we haven't been sold a dud.

Lets get this right, VELA aren't that on top of the SGS updates, look at the VELA results day RNS time (7.33am) whereas other companies were 7am. Then look at the most recent SGS update and low and behold look at the time of our RNS was 7.15am. Dare I say that our RNS(s) are reactionary, like they hear about anything the same time we do!

Couldn't agree more Topprize, i see CSFS director bought some shares yesterday and they are on the up since that buy, and it was exactly a chunky buy either. If the board don't think its worth investing at this price what does that show us....

Why oh why didn't we all sell at 0.14! Oh yeah we were led to believe commercialisation was underway! 6 months later we are no closer to commercialisation!

I bought in 18 months ago and have averaged down to 0.07p so just need to wait another 6 months to see a return according to postman!

Market is awful for most but VELA are taking big hits on our investments. These figures include the disposal of shares as well. Prices at time of writing:

Skillcast Group PLC - £250,000 Invested (675,676 shares), Current Value of Investment = £172,297 (-31.08%)

Overall showing these investments are at a loss of £414,715 ( - 20.26%)

Obviously not on this list are the non live assets of:
SGS - £2.35m invested
Aeristech - £350k invested
Ensilica - £750k invested
WeShop - £100k invested (yes, this is live but we cant dispose of this investment as we are locked in.)

Yeah i agree Twisty, the rose tinted glasses are off with this investment so even just 'washing our face' with this one would be a good at this point.

I have read the RNS and digested. I sense a tone from JN as a veiled dig at those of us (me included) who have questioned the validity of this investment!
Secondly, finally we have some data (of sorts) to show how this drug works against the placebo. This is encouraging as those of you saw the demise of the SNG trial will know that the difference between the phase 2 (great results) and the phase 3 was the improvement of placebo treatment which basically meant SNG did not show a significant enough improvement over current treatments.
Thirdly, if this does ever get to commercialisation we will not see a return for a significant period of time, if further trials are needed, future development etc. I can only assume if a deal is struck prior to these things that is will be subject to satisfactory results etc which = time.
Which ever spin you put on it, it doesn't appear this deal is dead in the water which put VELA as heavily undervalued.

No one is trying to talk down the SP, observing that there have been some seriously chunky sells at 0.3 which we can only assume is at a significant loss does not fill us with confidence!

I agree. I did my 'state of our investments' post in 7th Feb and our live investments were showing these investments in profit £497,508 (+24.31%) and the SP was 0.36
now 3 weeks on our investments are down -£127k (-6.25%) and our SP is the same!

It has been 5 weeks since the AGM RNS:

''Notwithstanding that only c.12% of the Company's issued share capital was voted, the Board has noted the proportion of those that were voted against certain resolutions. The Board will therefore be consulting with its advisers on how it might engage more effectively with its shareholders and will also be engaging with shareholders in order to understand the reasons behind the voting results.''

Another RNS they have failed to follow through on. No engagement with shareholders and as BigDave has mentioned there has been numerous occasions they could have updated us on VELAs investments.

I think I, like many others are just hoping that the lack of comms is due to them waiting to release the monster RNS regarding the commercialisation but as we have seen with SNG, nothing is guaranteed and the potential for the commercialisation is all that is keeping the SP in the 3s. Our other investments are appalling apart from CODE, even KNB is way down on its highs, its just a good job we are on a free ride there.

Sorry to be downbeat but there is nothing to be upbeat about currently.

MTI on its way to joining our illustrious list investments to be down over 50%!

Our SP is actually holding up quite well considering our investments are now only showing as being up 3% (£64k)
