The tariffs were in Trumps manifesto.
Trumps rating now are around 1% of the time he was elected, Demarcates in the 20%-30% range, seems to me good for Trump. On these number if election help tomorrow Trump would get even more votes.
Trump won the Electoral College and the popular vote at the election, a clear victory to me landslide or not but many commentators are calling it a landslide and looks like one to me.
“Decades of precedence from both Republican and Dem presidents, starting Gipper, HW, Billy bob,GW, Obama set US on this path. THinking that you can rip these out in one term without a credible plan to bring Mfg back to the US is tripe.”
So you agree the tariffs against America are unfair but OK because they were added over time, but if put on in one go and designed to bring countries for free trade talks are unfair and done by a numpty, seems strange.
Like it or not companies and investment are returning to America, manufacturing is returning, did you not see the JCB announcement yesterday as an example. As I said before more money invested in USA industry in Trumps short term than in the whole of the Biden's administration, says it all.
“Check with the American people when they start losing jobs in the coming weeks assuming numpty doesn't pull back.”
American people voted for this and from the Poll rating (check them out) are still very much in favour, it is Main Street vs Wall Street.
“ROFL - chip factories are being setup in the US because of Biden's IRA act that provides susbidies to manufacturers to setup plants”
Seems you missed the big announcement of the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), Taiwan's largest chipmaker, announced a $100 billion investment in the United States, which will go into building five cutting-edge fabrication facilities in Arizona. They said was the result of Trumps tariffs, Did not happen under Biden!
