Ahoy Neil...
Don't fret, I kind of understand your passion and background, and yearning to help people from the collective of your posts ; I've read them all.
Extremely interesting and enlightening.
(I won't go into my background at this point, don't want the audience to fall asleep)
Just got back from Manchester where C2H60 molecules have been interfering with cerebral neurons resulting in cognitive infarction.
Didn't mean harm by that last post but obviously elicited a reaction about pride and identity ! It's enlightening, and the more I read, the more I trust you .
All I was trying to say really was that it would be nice to see a big buy from outside the "group" ..
I'm taking it that you've got nigh on 3% of the company. There are two or three other posters on here with several million shares.
I've now got quite a substantial holding myself.
I was just alluding to the positive psychology of seeing a buy from outside the "group", as we all seem convinced (to varying degrees) of the merits of the company.
(I believe I'm still a bit more skeptical and wary of Black Swan events occurring (* see the eponymous book by Taleb), especially when posters seem to have one hand already on a billion dollar valuation. So much can go wrong. Events, dear boy, and all that.
Anyway, apologies for wrongly conflating "can afford " to lose with "not mattering" although there is an undoubted connection between the two.
This wasn't an ad hominem personal thing, it was just a comment really - as you yourself alluded to, that one man's million is another man's £10K.
