@Loki - I am not sure whether Starmer is left or right - he seems like a middle manager politician bending to the latest pressure - tbf a bit worse than Rishi who was a senior manager politician similarly bending to the latest pressure. What is certain is that he is less competent and not dealing withe the big issues our country is suffering from ; i.e high energy costs, over population , falling productivity, failing health and infrastructure.

Anyone know what the latest is wrt the number of shares that needed to be bought by the ETF people? I recall a couple of weeks ago reading here that it was several million?

The sp will rise once the buy back starts - it should also rise when more news about China doing a deal with USA becomes firm , plus of course a boost from any deal with Vietnam which looks more likely.

Apparantly some private equity deals are being pulled because of junk bond problems - not sure if that affects Sidara but might limit any competing bids for sure.

Decent upgrade to Puma and Next today - we will get a lift in sp imv also.

Poker- I disagree - buybacks will have a big effect here because there are so few shares in freefloat because pentland own the majority meaning the buy backs will affect the sp even more. Wrt EPS it will rise by around 5% from the buy backs alone . We will easily hit 80 p in a month or so imv.

Rats, I was thinking the same - my guess is that they have not yet got going on the buy backs - so sp rise todate has been without them and that bodes well for the future.

@Vascular- IG are great for the multiple buys with their zero commissions - just need barc and HL to do same!

I think the people who are complaining about the SP need to bear in mind that certain institutions and traders will not buy penny stocks or AIM listed stocks which means the SP will naturally be held back. Bear in mind also the MCAP at approching £2bn will not move quickly it needs a lot of buying to add £bns - although I think that will happen having read Bamps encouraging post!

Mushky - you don't know there is no other interested party .

The best we can hope for is that other bidders see the 35p and now enter the fray at this bargain basement price, starting a bidding war.

Tetley - sidara ARE planning to take it private at 35p per share

Gowerton , if the takeover goes ahead you will no longer own any shares!

As I see it the company is throwing off around £500m cash - so mcap should be at least £2.5bn meaning SP way above current levels on that basis alone

The BOD is recommending that they keep their jobs and not worry about the shareholders.

I see 4B as the least likely because no bid equals a lower sp under all circumstances imv.

I think the market will be happy with anything above 70k ounces - simply because it is under new management and the sp has some risk built in because of the lack of track record.

Obviously I am hoping for a much higher figure !

I topped up this morning and again this afternoon as I believe the price action indicates the MMs are gathering shares in readiness to sell at a profit when the market opens monday.

When you actually reflect upon the chaos launched with his table of tariffs it is mind boggling that his close team could'nt predict the chaos. It was like a bad episode of the apprentice and just maybe that is what he was emulating. Clearly they had no capacity to deal with the fall out . It will go down in history like Ratners ear ring joke and become a case study for many years to come.
