Skier, I completely disagree, the people who bought the cars knew the price they were paying and the monthly payements and if they were not happy they should have walked and got a better deal elsewhere- this is not like PPI where people were conned into useless insurance.

Talking of free trading - I heard today on IGTV that they are reducing their commissions to zero [ from £3] and paying 4.5% on cash balances from tomorrow. That is good news because they already have quite tight spreads and have been around over 50 years and frankly are better than the other brokers I use [Barclays, HL, II and redmayne Bentley].

Darien, If you are Sidara, you are engaged with the board and you will ask for more info on the projects division and then work out the 'historic' black hole and implications on future projects. I think it will be quite easy for them to do this because even if Wood are a little coy, it would'nt be hard to take a view on all of that. The current lack of info within the market is suppressing the sp and giving them a huge opportunity here just now imv - that will disappear once the final numbers are available to the market as well..

I have re read the RNS today and to me the only extra piece of info is the delay to publication of the accounts and suspension that will arise. therefore the market has over reacted. What is needed for refinancing and indeed a take over is cash flow and we have;

'The Company does not currently expect any material impact from the Review on the Group's ability to generate cash in the future'.

So we should settle in the 30s today/ tomorrow imv.

Ref Lloy, this week is the hearing and the BBC piece on the case made grim reading imv- whatever the outcome we are still on the hook for some compensation as I read it.

Tom, I think they are generating so much cash that they don't need any more capital for the planned growth - hence the buy back. I was hoping the sp would rise to 40p today - but it is a bad day in the market obviously.

I have bought some more because I am thinking a deal is more likely to happen now as the BOD can see what the sp will be without one.

Shame just one division and a useless CEO can completely destroy this company.

Banbury - some investors will sell in advance of any suspension because they want or are mandated to maintain liquidity - so it is a problem imv.

The only positives are; problems just in one division and no effect on cash now or going forward. The delays and prior year adjustments were always expected - potential suspension in a few weeks time is bad news .

Trading update, particularly the bit about paying dwon invoice debt is great. I noticed that a Director has loaned £60k unsecured at 10% and whilst that looks a bit greedy , it signifies he must see the company as rock solid financially - which is key imv. Sp will recover the last few days of losses for sure imv.

Profit up 61% and a share buy back means a sp up to 40p today - I hope!

No info on the rebalancing but we should all remember most of us got lucky here [ i say most because people like Speedie and Bamps actually have genuine expertise imv]. Had the newmount/newcrest deal not happened and the price of gold shot up to present prices the SP would still be in the doldrums imv. So the lesson is not to think we are investment gurus as a consequence of how this is unfolding.

Wrt this morning I just loved the fact that the Ineos car ceo was saying rightly that Trump has a point , he just wants fair trade and the EU need to negotiate. I doubt she will be invited back on!

Similar comedy yesterday when the CEO of a house building company said something like 'quite frankly the governments plans to ramp up housing won't work ' and I doubt she will be back. That means they a probably down to just one female construction ceo - the lady from D Drill , to call up next time they want an opinion !

The bottom line is Trump declared what he would do and the american voters are getting what they voted for.By contrast our bunch of liars declared what they would do and have brokeb virtually every promise except the net zero nonsense. God bless america.

Schwee - I agree this is a duff deal and the eo shuld walk because the sp has actually declined around 25% since the sle process was announced.

however there is detail round what this means in terms of profitability as it clearly states the shops contribute around 15% of profits and it gives turn over too.

Anyone else listen to r4 around 620 am , when they interviewed the CEO of INEOS cars? I had to laugh because there was something there for all political persuasions. She complained that the useless politicians in Brussels had failed to negotiate with Trump over car tarriffs, when they currently impose 4x the tarriffs on USA imports ,compared to the tarriffs the USA impose on them. It could be an existential problem for that company as 60% of their exports go to the USA.

So the great brexiteer jim Ratcliffe , who shunned Wales as a start up location and went to France now finds his business under threat by the politicians in Brussels !

Maybe he should have listened to his own arguements on the reasons to leave the EU and do a trade deal with the USA.
