A combination of OP slump and profit takers yesterday doesn't give a clear indication of market reaction - also being late for weekend papers is unfortunate. I reserve judgment on Mr Peaks - he deserves a chance. Rahul has set the bar very low. Lets see what next week brings.

Whilst the Board haven't exactly covered themselves in glory the way they have handled this CEO affair, Perks is definitely being appointed when Tlw sentiment is at its lowest for years. That gives him a great launchpad if he's up to it.

Friday is a strange day to make an announcement of this nature. Often will go largely unnoticed by the market which seems to be the case today.

Aidan Heavey didn't buy any shares, Paul McDade, McGoss - no directors bought any significant shares over the last 15 years. Why? because they were gifted all the shares they needed.

2 million shares here or there wouldn't increase what little influence his relatively small holding would give him. I'm with Mr Bond - he bought at 36p and everyone thought it was a positive signal, and in the 20's and in the teens................Now a buy from RG should just be ignored. He's more money than sense.

BBJ, expect a Jubilee 2P reserve downgrade first, based on H1 production. Any future upgrade is not happening near term.

RM said the same thing in March (almost word for word) continuing the spin that Rahul embedded in Tlw for the last 4.5 years. 'Fraid you can't believe a word they say anymore.

Xxnjr, can't see it taking 2 months to process the data (unless they're using an Apple II with 64 k mem) but overall timescale is probably 4-6 months whatever way its sliced.

Sorry, should have clarified, I was talking about Jubilee gross production. Tlw averaged 40k for the first 6 months and are guiding lower end of 40-45k for the year.

Except we haven't seen production ramp up and with a new well producing they are struggling to maintain 60k bopd - that's the reality.

No storm at all xxnjr :) Just seeing as I am on the wrong side of 60 I was beginning to think my memory had declined as much as Tlw's production.

RM stated full year guidance unchanged at 40k-45k with expectation at lower end. My calculations show they averaged just short of 40k bpd for H1. That means with a new well on stream production will be flat for H2. If that's true, that is the most worrying aspect of Tlw's prospects. Happy if somebody can prove me wrong.

Agree it would be good if RM bought some. I'd be presently surprised as (1) the recent half year report, and I know it's just a legal advice warning, said "There would therefore be a possible risk of the Group entering into insolvency proceedings.."

The post I was referring to was months ago and if I had the time or inclination I would do a search but I don't and I haven't. You're "I know its just legal advice" is in response to me calling you out previously but look, we both know your agenda and to your credit you are a little more subtle than most.

Xxnjr, nobody can accuse you of not highlighting the downside risks of Tlw to the point where you copied and pasted their " Liquidity Risk Management and Going concern" statement (which every company is legally obliged to complete) with no mention of where it came from. So be it...................

An inconvenient truth is that ALL shareholders legally have to be treated equally so this hint at a group of shareholders taking the company private for their own gains doesn't wash.

So you sack your CEO and 9 months later you still haven't found a replacement? I don't buy it. If I wanted rid of my CEO I would certainly have tapped the market BEFORE sacking him and have somebody lined up in principle. Much more likely the delay is down to corporate activity. If it isn't, then the board should be replaced for irresponsible behaviour.
