Someone is certainly buying the dips! Many on here will be pleased if like me they suspect a takeover approach in the offing particularly if they are unhappy with the current management - as so often is the case it lends itself to an open takeover whether by the management or past management where shareholders have question their motives.
I am sure the rise in share price is not on increased sentiment with less concern over the new virus I suppose time will tell as this whole thing plays out.

Up 7% yesterday and some profit takers today - it will be interesting if the dips are bought up? Or if we have a resurface of the offer for the Company such as last year before the new year divis are paid by the JV. If it is true anyone is stalking Marstons

Polymetal and Anglo -execs joining board make this one interesting share as the expansion continues!

Good news this from Hoch to spread ones wings into other Countries and broadens the horizons and life of the Company. From where I read between the line there is also a lot of untapped resource in BRAZIL from a local friendly community. Perhaps a message here to Peru.

Hargreaves Lansdown -refer to actually a quite good set of results but the Company statement saying that the worst of the pandemic is over has been taken the wrong way by the market.
Debts down. Equity up is what I look at. We also now have free cash flow.

Results could have been shown better and take a lot of reading. A simpler summary would have been clearer.
I looked at the group balance sheet. There is shown an an u/lying loss but free cash realized after the pubs have re-opened. However with the JVC profits of sale added in an overall profit.
The Financial statement also shows a rise in the overall equity value of this Company over last year, and a statement of fact that no dividends have bene added in from the JVC income since the pub -re-openings that will be added in 2022 - so in my mind it is a shame the full picture here was not shown with future expected dividends? even if a guestimate all things considered. Debts and borrowing down Equity increased now Total equity Gbp406.4m up from Gbp248m.
So overall actually quite good considering the pandemic hit. A lot of other business are far worse off than Marstons!

Agreed Peruvian president has passed his rule on support for Hochschild and the agreements and extensions they now have in place.
He is also a supporter of the local community and one thing I would say knowing of Hochschild is they certainly are an employer who supports its local communities in many ways Health, education, local infrastructure etc. One could say like any premium miner they look at their relationship as a family one and a partnerships. Even last year they opened up their own onsite medical care centre to help the locals. I wish all miners would operate this way to be honest!

Something in line with Mitchell & Butlers I expect.

The Company share price is down on what they would have liked and certainly the last statement was positive.
If anything untoward had occurred then the Company would already have been under a duty to have notified the market of any negativity.

Notice Fresnillo was up in early trade and Centamin that was down is now up. Perhaps the attention may be drawn to Hochschild later that this is also a precious metals miner that has a growing income from Gold. Good to buy the dips!

Might show if during the pandemic off sales have increased from home deliveries. We will determine more next week if the reaction to the Marston's share price has been an overreaction. In the meantime good time to buy the dips lots of money to be made in the market at the moment for the longer term.

I seem to remember buying selling this share when it was from memory at least £5 a share and perhaps at one stage not far off £6 in 2011-and so we have a lot to look forward to. I am sure the future now looks a lot brighter what with the new Peru.president / govt onboard. This Company must be one of Peru's greatest lets be honest worth a lot to them and sense has prevailed in the end.

Hopefully we will recover all that has been lost and that should equate to what is a massive rise tomorrow morning. As some have said we should also put behind us for the time being the new govts short term worry and may even finish higher than at the start of the week by the end of this one. Fingers crossed.

With govt reversal after consideration Barclays were right to advise their clients of a value opportunity in advance. We should get a big step back tomorrow I am sure a race will be on in early trade but it is worth holding ones nerve on the climb with this one.

The govt changes hands in Peru very quickly and so there will be no chance of them being able to afford to buy the mines from private owned Companies Hoch, Glencore and Anglo very much involved here in Peru, or the time. Which is also the second largest Copper producer.
I do not think they have nationalized the Banana production to my knowledge but I am not an expert so I see no reason for them to find the money to buy Silver and Gold mines?

As the Hochschild family have bene mining for over 100 years the committee will no doubt in the end grant new licenses when they start to realize what the actually shortfall to the Peruvian economy will be if they cut their output.
Otherwise they will have to start planting all of the rain forests with banana trees! Hopefully a speedy outcome is on the cards as I cannot see the income form Bananas overtaking that from Millions of ounces of Silver and 1000's of Gold!

Hi RR & WW - Yes I agree with both of you on this re. The press release and motivations behind it in the first place. If they really felt there was a serious issue they would have had an order to close the mines immediately and then would have taking a good kicking by suddenly realizing the loss of a substantial income from both Hoch mines, and the other mines owned by other major mining comps. The fact is the Govt cannot afford to shut them even if they wanted to.
