That's the way I thought it would be viewed. State of the law, not wider impact of the decisions of the court on wider issues.

I think it's a bit what I was saying, i.e. that sometimes you feel as if you're fitting your own story to a chart. My story is a bit sh i t so I'm better off financially, just looking at the chart and dealing with the blindingly obvious (I guess that's what most others can also see). I sometimes look at the sort of thing you're describing, but I instantly ignore some figures as 'ridiculous' (art not science) and usually end up watching carefully as the price moves around certain levels and making my decisions based on that. I usually only take big positions, where those levels look extreme, but also where the price moves in a way that fits with my understanding. That way, I get some good trades.

I should also say that I'm very 'discretionary' and I think that comes from many years of experience, maybe art!

I don't have a view on it really and I don't believe it relates to the SP action. It just came up at home and seemed relevent so I thought I'd share. I'll keep doing the same thing and I think it's unlikely I'll buy here above 420ish. I'm always trying to understand 'why'. But I can't, I just try to be pragmatic now, accept I won't understand wy SP's move the way they do and just accept it and try to exploit it.

It feels a bit like that, like some sort of game. I often can't find any reason at all for the SP of a company to come a long way down. If you're holding when it does, it's clearly no fun at all, particularly if you can't rationalise it properly. I'm trying to be very pragmatic and use these changes to my advantage, rather than just sit and watch them play out.

I hope you all get a take out price that's great, doesn't matter if I'm not in, just as long I'm not sat holding with the tide coming in and out on me with out me having a clue what's going on.

OK, checking the rules on transit. There's a temporary lifting on need for visa for transit, but that is up for re-evaluation. As long as you don't cross the customs, you're right, currently you don't need the visa.

Hey PC, in an article that my wife read yesterday (french press) the visa is needed for transit. Those she's talking about avoiding the UK where there are simple alternatives, they're business travellers I guess (colleagues). But if they're chosing alternatives (German airports I'd guess) rather than the UK visa path, it's at least a little inertia. Over time, as the visa is for 2 years, I imagine that effect on business travel will reduce. For leisure travel for Brits going to and from the UK, no change, but for Other European countries visiting the UK it might make some think twic when there is an easy alternative.

I think that's right, I think the SP could see some significant downside now. It actually looks quite likely to come off to 52 to me, but I fear that is not the end of the drop if it gets there. I suspect most of you have little interest in TA/Charts, but that's what I'm looking at. I closed all of my positions out for that reason. I'm wondering whether the newsflow will be used in a negative way to reduce interest here. Could the recent cultural 'scandal' be used to change sentiment?

I think that's the problem a bit there Stoopid, it's the arguments for the moment and not the summaries/conclusions. I'm guessing the market is following this and that the earlier spike in price/vol was related to the detail being discussed. But just as arguments that seem encouraging, might trigger some buying, arguments that seem less encouraging might trigger further falls. It's going to be interesting for sure and thanks for the commentary. I suspect there'll be some ups and downs for the SP during these arguments.

Little bullish price movement there and there was some volume behind it.

If you look back on the weekly chart to Dec 2016/Feb 2017 and all the way to Sept/Oct 2017, there is a period of time where the price trades in a range from about 252 (read off the weekly) to 293. I'm seeing a potential support at the lower end of that, but again it's not a standout and I'm certainly not suggesting it will go there. Just watching for possibilities

Your comment below, is pertienent I think. I certainly wouldn't discard/TA and charts, but for me (and that's a personal view rather than a general one), TA becomes much more likely to yield strong results, when combined with fundamentals. So I agree that once the SP hits specific levels, TA can be very, very effective at helping you to maximise your chances of profit. It's why avoided this until it hit 320 or below. If I don't wait for very specific levels on good companies, it's much harder for me to make money on the smaller swings. When I do try to do that, my positions are a lot smaller. But off what I consider deep value levels, as long as the liquidity is good, I use very large positions at times.
