I don't think it's related to 'airline shares' and even less to EZJ. Xhita has a good handle on all of this. But having said that, the SP is dropping and I've previously stated where I think it's going. But I absolutely believe, this is nothing to do with EZJ

Well USteve, that's not aged well and we're only 20 mins into the day. I took a 5k loss on this a week or so ago. No fab intelligent reason, just overstretched and closed this one t free up a bit of capital. I'm looking/feeling clever now, even if I wasn't at all. Isn't hindsight a wonderful tonic.

LW, we've chatted from time to time and you seem a decent person and well grounded. For me, what you're saying is that you're evolving (that means learning, from what you're doing in this case). You may have found your perfect mix with your hybrid, but I'd say that you should never stop learning as once you hit that sweet spot it's like nothing else. Honestly, for me, hitting my dream level on markets, made me realise that my dreams were tin pot and needed adjusting. When you find the little niche that suits you and you get used to dealing with the risk, the rewards are astonishing.

Might be worth going off-line to work on stuff together at some point if that was to interest you?

Spf, I've been at this for years. I recognise every single thing you have said in my past (sometimes current) behaviours. I think many of us go through a long and difficult period of 'on the job' learning. It's worth it though, if you can come of the other side a better 'player'.

This is all I do professionally and as I can't do the fast repetitive stuff due to my other obligations, I actually have a lot of time on my hands and spend it stuck to screens learning, or watching or getting pi ss ed off with nonsense. If you're interested in hearing from traders who actually (verified, and not-self verified) day trade, you could do worse than watch a few 'WordsofRizdom' Youtube vids. I hated the latest one, but it does demonstrate day trading is just dandy for those who can. As you say, many of us can't.

There's a tendency to be over-confident in statements about trading types. Saying things like 'daytrading is for mugs' or something similar should be translated more into 'I can't make a success of daytrading'. There's a big difference. If you do the research, you'll see that there are some very good daytraders who make large amounts of money. There are even Prop trading firms that do a lot of their trading as Intraday trades and claim to have traders on their desks making 7 and 8 figure annual profits (it's actually verifiable).

I'd argue, that we're each better suited to a particular part of the investing/trading business and not all parts of the business will suit our personalities or would even be possible around our day to day activities (like full/part time jobs).

Just wanted to point out, that something that doesn't work well for one person, could be the speciality of another.

FWIW, I don't do particularly well on frequent short trades either, but it doesn't suit my lifestyle and other responsibilities. If my lifestyle was different, I could imagine trying to learn more about it and giving it a more serious go.

NM, might be Champers or brown trousers, I'm not a fan of champers and would hazard a guess that neither would taste very good.

Talking of frivolous (and probably pointless), from a TA perspective I have 60p as a logical target but see 65ish as a lot more likely. That's simply based on what might be a cup n handle on the daily that activated on March 17th. A daily close of the price below 41.5ish would have that likely invalidated. An offer migh well have that looking conservative. A walk away from the table would likely have that looking optimistic!

Talies, also important to understand that, these type of offer situations don't come cheap, they are not frivolous.

Pp, that's a much more interesting post than the one previously (I forget the poster) that stated Sidara as a perpetual windowshopper or something similar.

Check out Anton Kreel and his institute of trading. It's all options, mostly US I think. I mentioned him as a resource previously. Some of his videos cover some basics of options strategies and the greeks. You could take some of what he 'almost' explains and take it further with personal research. The way I understand it, you can't really trade options on companies in the UK and in the US you have Options in place of CFDs (which I believe are illegal now; that's memory and needs checking).

He claims to have 0.68% (from memory) of available shares. That's just over 1 million shares. I have no reason to doubt that. What would be more interesting to know, would be his average entry, whether he bought on the open market or was vested the shares due to employment etc. From what I see of what he's declared. He's not trading. Which means he's sat watching his investment go up and down and missing every opportunity to take profit. The idea being that over the long run, by doing nothing, he'll either get back to b/e or make a profit.

You're right LW, it's really getting to me over on that board. I've filtered about 70% of posters, but they still keep popping up.

For WG, not much to say really. There'll be an offer or there won't by close of business Monday. If there's not offer, I'll be under on that position, but have resolved to hold it/add/participate if there's a raise etc with a view that it's turning a corner and the SP will recover quite quickly to at least my b/e. Have already taken a reasonable profit and closed 50%. Main reason was because I made some poor decisions on my entries and had to increase my position size to bring down my mean entry. When it rose I trimmed off the extra that I didn't want to hold and am in a good position. For some reason though I'm stuck in a loop of watching that and other bb's that seems to have been triggered by my poor execution on entry to WG. I'm actually no longer worried about the position itself. Just in a funny state of mind.

I'm not familiar with it, but now I realise that I mistook the post from loggypunts as being for todays trading, I'm getting more in line with you guys. My data is not a million miles off yours with respect to yesterday. I follow volume quite closely on certain positions. YOU isn't normally one of them at the moment as I only have a small position. But I'm waiting for resolution on another position that has me a bit tense and the rubbish posted incessantly on that board is driving me a bit stir crazy.

OK, apologies. The post was yesterday. I forgot how infrequent the posts are here. OK, I accept that volume was higher yesterday. I wouldn't describe it as exceptional, but it's towards the higher end of things since November.

Stas, I'm looking at daily volume now vs price over time and today, the volume is showing as low. Yesterday the volume was much higher. What's your data source? I'm reading directly off charts supplied by ProRealTime. I believe the data comes from IT finance. If you're seeing a big increase in volume over a short time frame, we have very different data.

I can't even share it at the moment as my subscription to the screen sharing software has run out by the look of things. When I look at volume in 15 min periods against price on YOU, there is no increase in volume of any note on the rise. The only elevated (high by not massive) that I have is on a 15 min period yesterday 16:45 and it was on a drop in price. Sorry I can't share that, but I see no increase in volume of any import. I'll try to sort out my screen cap thing ASAP as I'd rather share the chart

Loggypunts, the volume was pretty low on that move to the upside. You're calling a 'coldspy surge' (named after it's inventor. It's a surge based on volume that isn't there. A fantasy volume surge in fact. Show me why you said on decent volume.

Yes Nick Leeson. He's recently said that he doesn't lose any sleep about the money he lost. That'll not sit well with the investors who lost their money in Barings. He still trades. First hour of the day only. Presumably he earns enough from that. There are so many different ways to specialise in trading/investing.
