Everyday it seems that another article/investigation/report, highlights another opportunity for MWG and SKIN. Conversion of these opportunities is going to be interesting. We have the technology, we have the drive and the vision and I want to see where we prioritise our resources. Full confidence in Gerard and the teams at Integumen and Modern Water but they must be like kids in a candy store - which tasty project do we go for first.

As per a football team (perpetuating the analogy) leadership is critical, be that the captain on the field or the manager in the dugout. What I saw was a guy saying, we want to win the premiership (gold standard), and this is how we are going to do it. Collaborative working, change of tactics, clear vision, flexibility and receptive to change, not inhibited by past glories or failures, a drive and determination. It does help when you inherit some great players in the team and decent facilities, just change the priorities and ways of working. Stop messing around in the back four, just play quicker through your midfield and let your forwards do the work. Win a few contracts/trophies and the belief sets in. Bit of fun I know but I see an awful lot of positives here and in SKIN.

In my ongoing research I come across a number of articles (most of which Gerard and Sloppy Giuseppe have already highlighted). I often wonder what the correct protocol is for informing the writers of these articles about MWG and SKIN. I wonder if Gerard has a Company CV on standby to send out to every author.
Gerard posted on Twitter this morning about sewage release in East Yorkshire rivers. I fish the River Nidd in North Yorkshire and the thought of raw sewage contaminating the water, wildlife, recreational users of the river is frightening. The innocuous handling of a wet fishing line could lead to who knows what. I think more scary stuff will come out and maybe this is now the time to address these 'hidden dangers'. Lets get everything out in the open and have a bit of honesty and openness. My concern for MWG and SKIN is they may highlight problems that water companies prefer to keep hidden. Bit of a conspiracy theory but currently if they can claim they didn't know they had a problem, they don't have to pay to address it. A convenient truth.

What compounds the problem is that untreated sewage is finding it's way in to our rivers and water courses. At high load times this seems to be an acceptable norm for Water Companies to relieve the stress on their treatment systems and release in to rivers. Knowing what this waste carries, this can no longer be acceptable practice (if it ever was acceptable), and investment has to be made available to improve monitoring, improve infrastructure and increase accountability. Some changes to legislation required I feel and the resources to enforce it. MWG and SKIN have a big part to play in this I am sure.

I was born in Newcastle but my Dad was from Cambuslang so I have supported Scotland all my life. It helped, as a kid having one of my Newcastle heroes, Bobby Moncur, as Scotland Captain. I agree, more chance here than with Scotland.

MWG is what I call my football club share. We get a new Manager and have that new Manager bounce. After a period of stagnation, results start to turn. The Manager changes the previous tactics and strategies and results continue to improve. The new Manager always seems to have a honeymoon period where success seems to breed success, but then has to plan long term. He shuffles his playing staff, and given time brings in new players or resources to take the team to the next level. This may be collaborating with other teams for loan players, coaches whatever it takes to move the team to the next level. I think MWG has had the new Manager bounce and is now building for the future. The opportunities for MWG and SKIN are huge - lower middle premiership looking for a Champions League spot - it has been done before. Enjoy your weekend, leave the pubs alone and stay safe.

There is a lot of personal angst in Muggins’s postings, and that may well be justified. It is not shareholders complaining or holding the Board to account that kills a Company, It is shareholder apathy. While ever shareholders are flagging up issues or concerns, it shows they are still interested / care . When things go quiet, and apathy or disillusionment sets in, that is the time to worry. I don’t accept that all the money spent has been wasted. A lot has been spent on research and development and we are now in this position because of that initial investment. Yes, mistakes have made along the way but I would say that it was wasted opportunities that nearly killed us rather than wasting money.
Collaborative working, a clear vision, a good business model, strong leadership and clear evidence of progress in a short space of time, personally I can live with that. OK so I have only been here since March so I don’t carry any baggage. You want the worst Board of Directors on aim, I give you Berkeley Mineral Resources and I will leave it there.
Gerard Brandon will stand or fall by how the company performs and he does not seem to be the type of character to allow complacency at any level. I get the feeling Gerard Brandon wants Modern Water Group and Integumen to be more successful than maybe we shareholders want it to be. Don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater Muggins, there may be something good in that Board.
