I was just looking at the trades and noticed a trade at around 11.22. Somebody had a spare circa £110K to spend on shares not sure if it was a buy or sell.

Chrisatrdg ref 13.07 post in this case I would not be surprised if they instruct Senior Crown Counsel for this. In England and Wales he is called the First Treasury Counsel. As an aside it is not uncommon for the First Treasury Counsel ending up being made a High Court Judge. In fact one Former First Treasury Counsel is now a Justice of the Supreme Court.

Surely that means that my statement that they could have agreed to a consent order at the time of filing their answer to the claim was correct.

RichardMcV ref 09.04 post while not necessarily disagreeing with you as I have little experience of the NI Civil Service I would note that this was a politically controversial decision. I would therefore expect that greater care was taken in coming to the decision. I would also note that this matter was with the Minister for six months so would assume it was considered very carefully by him.

I notice that this article is more balanced than previous articles which seemed pro No Gas Caverns.

RichardMcV ref 07.15 post Thanks for this. I find it interesting that DAERA did not object to permission being granted. Without knowing the reasoning I would not want to comment as it may be connected to a difference in JR procedure in Northern Ireland.

Jabido ref your 07.35 post this cuts the time the JR will take as the whole permission stage has been removed. Also it means that any decision would be appealable all the way should it come to it to the UK Supreme Court. This means that the decision would be binding in all future cases where similar points may arise. The effect of this is that any future applications for additional salt caverns or to change the license to allow for hydrogen storage would have a firm legal basis.

Having considered this during the course of the day while it is a laudable aim to have a windfarm within a year I do not believe it is logistically possible. Assuming that they can get a lease from the Crown Estate there is still the question of planning permission for the onshore elements. Obtaining planning permission is likely to take a minimum of three months. There is then the problem of constructing the turbines. I think with the best will in the world and HMG passing the necessary enabling legislation to avoid the need for planning legislation it will take at least two years.

Lottie123 ref 11.06 post While I agree that the indications would support what you say there is in my opinion insufficient verifiable information to support it. As an example we have no indication that any firm orders have come out of the Expo in Ireland. Also the range of work is encouraging the level of work that I am noticing coming into Belfast is still not as consistent as I would like. The problem is that historically HARL does not give contract values. The only two occasions that contract values were given they were in the months before a placing. What I would like to see but probably will not is when trading updates are given is that they give information on the amount of income has been made in the previous quarter. Other companies are able to do so I am therefore unsure why HARL is unable to.

LSE03 ref 0700 post I am sure HMG knows what it is doing and it is aware that Parliament is in recess. It is a courageous thing for a government, especially one that has been repeatedly criticised for making policy announcements outside Parliament first, to make such an announcement during the Easter Recess.

LSE03 ref 06.33 post Thanks for this. I could not find a report of this elsewhere and I do not subscribe to the Telegraph. It is an interesting development. As far as I am aware there is only one company which has the fabricating footprint large enough to handle a project like this without going overseas. I do not see going overseas being politically advantageous.

LSE03 ref 14.32 post thanks the Venus is certainly a large vessel a bit too large for the dry dock so if it needs repairs it might be a case of HARL going to it rather than it coming to HARL.

As the Stena Horizon and the Pharos will, as the information on the website currently shows, still be in the dry dock the total length of ships in the dry dock will be 466m so the dry dock will be full.

Just seen on the Belfast Harbour website h-that the 195m Stena Forecaster which normally runs between Dublin and Liverpool is currently scheduled to berth in Belfast on 4 April for ten days and is scheduled to leave on 14 April. I find it interesting that it did not go into drydock in Liverpool.

Si_Derman having announced a placing last time the share price was this high perhaps they would be kind and announce a contract.

I do not want to get anyone's hopes up but as far as I can see the last time the share price was this high was around November 25 last year.

I have just noticed an error in my 08.15 post the effective term of the license is 50 years the 25 year notice plus the 25 years before the notice can be given. This reinforces my point that even with the JR the license has significant value on a forward earnings basis over the life of the license.
