In those circumstances the vendors could have set aside the agreement for sale or take other action that would cause the loss of Appledore. In those circumstances an agreement to discharge all obligations under the purchase agreement in exchange for not pursuing any legal remedies. This is a long way of saying that it was probably done to avoid legal action.

As I see it with the deferred consideration paid off the total debt is likely to reduce to circa £40m. Also the value of the assets is likely to go up to reflect the complete ownership of Appledore. On your dilution point you have to recall that this was always anticipated as the consideration for Appledore was always going to be settled in part by shares.

Lottie123 ref 15.00 post I think on balance this is good as it means that Appledore is as you say fully on the balance sheet. It also reduces long term debt in relation to the deferred consideration. This should strengthen the balance sheet. Also it does mean that with the drawdown HARL should now have enough working capital into next year. There was that intriguing reference to contracts into Appledore we might even find out about those you never know.

RNS OUT- HARL has partially drawn down the accordion facility and has used it to fully pay off the amount due to the vendors of Appledore. My view is this is a positive as Appledore was the only freehold site that HARL had. Interestingly this also means if I am reading this right that the vendors are now a significant shareholder in HARL so let us see if they dispose of their holding immediately.

It has now been confirmed that Monday's planned fiscal event has been postponed until 17 November when we will have the Autumn Statement. This may mean that any contractual news from HARL will be before the Autumn Statement. The FSS announcement may also be before the Autumn Statement.

Newbie2020 There is also a possibility of a contract from the Isles of Sicily in relation to the building of the Sicillonian V. This has been ongoing for sometime. The issue has been the funding as it will be part funded by HMG. I am not sure if Si_Derman knows anything more about this.

Just being pedantic he is the Secretary of State for Defence. I think there are three Defence Ministers. I hope this means that he can put us out of our misery and confirm the decision on the FSS tender.

mcadder ref 15.43 post I would add that we need to consider how much of the drop in the share price is caused by external factors not connected with the company. I am not sure that there is anyway of telling but I do think it is a factor that needs to be kept in mind. For the share price to increase to anywhere near true value then I think the markets need to regain confidence in the BoD. It does not help when they say that contracts are coming and do not come when they said. In this regard we have four trading days left in the month lets hope that the BoD can deliver on their promise of contracts in October.

maqsood7 If you check my post history you will see that my posts are even handed and I neither ramp or deramp. I am a shareholder I suspect I own more shares than you. While I might criticise the management on occasion I have never criticised the strategy. Unlike you my plan is to hold until at least 2025 unless something occurs that gives concern about the viability of the company. For your information I am sitting on a four figure loss on this share.

maqsood7 ref 21.36 post If you have to ramp please get your facts straight the fact that it is in the budget is irrelevant the MoD has not signed the contract so can as it did before cancel the tender as neither bid is within the budget.

maqsood7 ref 16.31 post I am aware of this contract the problem I had was that the figure quoted by EarlofAim was not one I recognised. The contract value on this bid is circa £1.67bn. As I understand if Team Resolute was to win the bid then HARL's share of the contract value will be around £600m. Where I think the £300m comes in is from sub contract work if Team UK wins the bid. I have my doubts whether Team UK would in fact sub contract any significant work to HARL as HARL was a late addition following pressure from the MoD.
