I'm afraid that you can now tell why GR has been reluctant over the years to do a resource estimate... he's had to withdraw the 2017 one because it was, how can I put it... inaccurate. He's been found wanting again! And, now, when he's been found out, he's overegging the pudding again with saying that, of course, he'll be able to sell the lithium for more than was expected... apologies for being a tad sceptical about that claim!
And he has only been forced into doing this to get some bank finance... boy, he's desperate!
I'm disappointed once again!
I can certainly understand why some people are selling if they've got a sniff of a profit. There were some positives and negatives in news released by VAST in the last few weeks. FWIW, I'm holding for the time being... next piece of news on funding will be positive (or not negative) I believe... and, with the possibility of the diamonds (however slim), I'm inclined to think that the rest of this month is looking OK... still risky but potentially very rewarding.
Well I guess that a number of things could be pointing to some sort of resolution soon -
AP raising some funds specifically for the diamond issue.
He also confirmed recently that the resolution was well advanced and that it would be completed soon - certainly gave me the impression that there had been more progress.
Bank governor wants to clear his desk before ending his term.
Lenders extended arrangements - with a different spin on the communication of that last extension.
Apparently, final negotiation was taking place from London (??)
We've probably been here before but I can understand why the sp is beginning to rise.
If we actually get confirmation that the diamonds have been received/sold then I think we'll see a huge spike. The bank governor will want this resolved before he ends his term next month!
As I've said before, I think that I'd be more interested in what else is agreed with the Zim authorities. Will we see VAST back operating in Zim?
Apologies Craignews - I meant to say all kit arriving on time. Apparently, GR is emailing folk privately to say that all the kit has arrived!!!... says a lot about the guy... underhand, devious... spent money raised for one thing on other pet projects, was caught out last year selling his shares without telling the market... he's a shark and only just survived being shown the door by Canmax! Sorry to say this about anyone but he doesn't deserve any courtesy extended!
Compare him to HE1's CEO... I'm afraid no comparison again!
Craignews - I could write a book on Prem and old GR after some painful years there. Get your facts right though, they're not about to start producing and selling any day now.... end of the month possibly IF (and it's still a big IF) the mill arrives on time and is installed on time and if it all works. Record to date is not looking encouraging at all... I'd be surprised if they have any spod to sell before the end of March. And, of course, the lithium price has dropped like a stone! SP has risen there and I'd say risk/reward is not looking as good.
Compare it with HE1... no comparison. HE1 is in a completely different league... much safer and much bigger reward!!
Seems to be some life in this still.
I don't have any concerns about financing - I think, if the diamonds are not resolved, that the lenders will extend again. There was an interesting comment from AP about needing some of the funds from the last placement was needed for the diamonds... I could speculate what that is for but suffice to say that some in Zim might want paid up front before they do what is required! Rumours abound - one of these times the rumours are going to be correct!
The supplemental projects are good but let's see the income coming through AP and let's see some more of these deals.
Main concern is BP - AP has said that Q1 should be better than the last quarter. Would love to see a significant improvement!
No such thing as retirement, asi... I joke with my peers that we're all in our prime between 50 and 75, as long as one can stay healthy!
I've come to the same conclusion about VAST for the time being... the diamonds might offer a boost but AP really needs to get production up... and keep it up.
Hey ASI - how are you doing? There are less columns in this production update (I won't list them) so it does look more succinct. I'd actually put it down to Andrew Hall's loss... AP, I guess, will be picking up the slack. Even with AH's loss and the strike, I did expect better figures.
As far as my wee portfolio goes, I was having a good start to the year (managed to get in relatively early to HE1 - I see your name popping up there - and SDRY) but VAST has disappointed this time round... this month is looking interesting though... could be diamonds....................... finally??
Probably, on balance, if she had to raise, it was best to do now but I think the sp could drift - clearly, there is no good news that is imminent, i.e in the next couple of weeks, or she would have held off.
JV is my best guess... our CEO said several times that she wanted to monetise/commercialise asap... has to be with someone who can mobilise quickly and who has enough cash. I wouldn't be at all surprised if her phone is red hot with interested majors looking to do a deal and that some have already sent reps to Tan.
