Csdi, trading shares isn’t as easy as it looks as anyone can sit and watch a low price and say “I could of bought then”. But in reality when the money is sitting in your account and it drops then suddenly rises panic can set in with any novice trader. It’s easy to say you could buy at a low price when you have no money and your just watching the price drop.

Also I have seen plenty people in other shares sell out to buy when it goes lower and the shares just rise loads which gives you the choice of buying back with less shares or waiting for it to drop again if ever.

Topped up 200 today, I didn’t quite catch today’s bottom but I still got them for £14.12. Quite a bit in the red with these now but I know come next year it will be a lot better.

Simply Wall Street posts are that reliable as I have held bp for a few years and when bp was about £2.80 a share they were saying its true value was £2.20. If you look at their true value figure now it’s about £4.80 so don’t take these sites as gospel as they change their minds very quickly.

It’s not worth the grief for 100 shares as if it drops a little you will only gain say 3 or 4 shares after all fees plus there is a much bigger chance this will rise. 2007 is a completely different time to now and it’s only really the papers that keep telling us there will be a recession.

The lads at work will love this drop if it maintains for up to October as the new share scheme starts and they get offered a 20% discount on the share price at the time.

Was hoping it was going to drop into the £13’s today as I’m definitely topping up more if that happens. I saw £14.66 so it’s getting close

As I have said many times it’s the papers that keep telling us how hard it’s going to be. Does anyone actually know anyone who is struggling to cope with rising costs as I don’t. Also house prices are still rising and if they do drop it won’t be the miracle drop people are hoping for.

W didn’t hit £12 when covid first hit and no one knew what was happening so I would say the chances of sub £12 are zero

Well I always expected the share to drop to £18 but never expected the share to drop into the £15’s. During the outbreak in 2020 the share dropped to £13.70 but I didn’t buy as people flooded my head with stories it was going to drop to say £9.

Well since we are low let’s hope we revisit the £13 price range as I have quite a bit in other shares that I will just put in here :-)

The dividend was halved as they had to cancel the first payment of £1.25 as they applied for government help as obviously no one had any idea what was happening.

While taking money from the government you were banned from making dividend payments so they returned the money and re instated the next dividend although it was paid in two payments 40p and 70p.

Just had a check of porsche1946 post history and he is really just a serial troll on on virtually every board he posts on. He talks proper rubbish about all stocks.

Porsche, Virtually every share is in free fall. Some proper bargains at the moment if you have funds. I hope it does get close to £12 as I have quite a bit in other stocks I would cash out to put in here.

If another stock has dropped so that it’s worth having your money in them. It’s reasons why I sell other shares when they are low

For the sake of a trade payment I would rather make top ups at this price and hope it still goes lower

Porsche1944, There is no way this will come close to 2008 pricing as it’s a totally different scenario.

Persimmon is still building on land that they have held for over 25 years so how much will that take the price of a house down? Also they are now making people sign up to their internet company for two years when they move in. I was told it was going to float on the stock market last year but still haven’t seen it yet, if you spot Fibrenest that’s persimmons own internet provider company.

I know I will regret it but a sold a few bp shares today and topped up 180 shares in here. I messed up with my timing last time selling my shell shares to buy more in here so very reluctant to go all in again.

The next dividend payment is 6 months away so why be bothered about something that far away and by the time the dividend is announced the share will be higher than where it is now.

Average dividend payments by most companies are between 4-8% so what’s the big deal if there is a short term cut as no one else is paying better.

I still can’t see the dividend being cut as there is no way the directors are going to slash payments to themselves and there is no chance of the share holders voting to cut the payment.
