Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Hi O & W, your right the number/ trend of new cases reported confirmed new cases are reducing (if you believe the gov figures, which is another discussion), but there are hotspots, eg Cleckheaton outbreak at the massive ASDA food processing plant and it is only 30 miles from Avacta’s Wetherby HQ.
Think they will be ok on getting required sample numbers, Unfortunately Bradford Royal H is still under pressure at the moment.
ATB
Great news. It has been my opinion for the last 3 weeks that the lack of firm guidance from MHRA has held back the finalisation of the tests.
Now Avacta know what they have got and what they are aiming for, not just continuous refinement, to get better & better.
They would not have wanted to have committed to manufacture / verification, if it was to be below MHRA desired or acceptable standards. Given what we have been told to date about the quality of both tests, we can expect some news very soon on the lock-down of design and manufacturing partnerships. Perhaps even soon some provisional orders and deposit receipts.
All in MHO, GLA
Have a great day and we can all look forward to an exciting news filled week ahead.
It is at this point in the design process that ii’s start to get interested.
Not much to date hence lack of notifications, they will now follow Conifer and won’t want to miss out.
Still 2.50 within a week. GLA
Using Sona n as a simple comparator, they were at 1.13 on 12/5/2020, when they released a similar statement, within 4 weeks up to 3.62. All from a similar starting point pre Covid, they also don’t have the wide product offering potential of AVACTA.
Within a week £2.50 + is my call. IMMHO.
From klaus that is a massive statement. !!!
This is bigger and better news for us than we are giving it credit.
We are further on than we think! LFD are ready to be included in a trial?
Also Why release article at exactly 0.00 this am, commercially sensitive for us.
Great news
On the contrary, looks good for AVCT, last but 1 para
“Ultimately, it might be possible to do the testing as well as the sampling at home and get results in under an hour.”
This is referring to lfd, not spit in a tube & send it away test.
It is surely a RNS in the morning then?
Should read “ sensitivity & specificity %”
Just to fill some time on a Sunday & to change some of the mood and chat on here, I have been thinking about the potential importance of this part of the recent RNS, it seems all other parts of the RNS have been picked over, bar this.
18/6/20, RNS. “Bi & Trispecific Affirmers neutralising therapies that bind to more than one part of the spike protein could ensure the effectiveness of the neutralising therapy even if the the virus’
spike mutates”
To a non scientific mind would this not be of use in the LFD test design, to use 3 Affirmers instead of one, they seem to like differing parts of virus’ protein and stick to it like “a limpet to a boats hull” or “s..t to a blanket”. Would this up the specificity & specificity %’s still further & have the added benefit of continuing to work should a mutation occur.
May be just another stupid idea. Any thoughts anyone one? GLA
This reads well for avacta’s near term offering, in the US.
Can’t sell but buy only ....... better header
It has been 4.5 months since the last non Covid RNS was issued to the market. AS has stated that existing contracts/partnerships have been pushing on, despite the pandemic. Certain hints have been given regarding updates re non CV events, IMHO think one may be coming very coming soon (or the very near future!)
Gobstoppers, chewing & bubble gum. Slow release over the day is my guess. :)
My post on ADFN 23rd May on BAMS testing numbers.
My post of 23rd May.....this is not bad as a second string...

In UK ALONE we have 103 NHS Path labs. (With a total capacity of 800 million tests performed annually in UK Of all types).
Each lab has at least 1 MS testing machine.
Soon to have BAMS Adeptrix / Avacta Covid 19 test capabilities.
UK NHS Covid 19 Testing option, 100 MS machines say at 20% capacity of 200 tests per day per lab. 20,000 per day UK.
USA & REST of World say x 20
Total 400,000 tests per day!! @ min £2.50 commission profit for Avt per test.
= 1m per day. 365m profit per year !!
Not bad as a number 2 string. Early RNS on this expected as soon as next week.
Thanks Eagle, it was spooky - just looking at it when your great post on the same lines was posted!
Hi, interesting parallels between avct & sona re share movements
Sona reached their prevalidation period peak of 2.16 on 6/4//20, 2.5Weeks after generating conjugate for Cytiva.
Avct. Reached their peak of 2.02 on 26/5/20, 2 weeks after shipping to Cytiva.
Sona shares Had fallen back to 1.13 on 12/5/20 prior to prototype being sent to ind. lab.
Avacta has fallen to 1.03 today. Prior to confirmation of prototype dev.
Sona share price 4 weeks on, today is 3.20
Are we at our inflection point..??
GLR1990,
Great post.
I would add that when asked about a USA listing Sir Al, made specific ref to the Therapeutics division being possibly floated there in the future, which fits in nicely with your point about the new investor being heavily focused on the Precision pipeline.
Also hints at a possible split of the company.
Rns
Partnerships with Cytiva are very good thing, a competitor, has achieved CE marking approval today .
Bodes well for Avacta.
