Avacta Chairman has history securing major investment from the Gates Foundation.
Dr Forster brings over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, most recently leading Immunocore as Chief Executive Officer to become a world-leading immuno-oncology biotech, raising over £230 million in equity and non-dilutive funding as well as securing partnerships with AstraZeneca and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
Good to see Tucson and Latrobe facilities hiring in USA. Including automated packing technicians, as the chairman stated, tooling contracts are a precursor to manufacturing runs, where revenue and profit are generated.
Chairman & CFO buying - also positive signals.
Had a little drive-by late last night around the Mitcham factory, as I was in the area. A massive site, lights on and plenty of cars around. They certainly seem to have plenty on, busy away.
Plus potential news to come on breath test progress.

Update on Integumen Collaboration
Avacta Group plc (AIM: AVCT), the developer of Affimer® biotherapeutics and reagents, is pleased to note the update by Integumen plc (AIM: SKIN) ("Integumen") provided today regarding their ongoing development of Affimer-based sensors for the coronavirus in waste water and in human breath.
Dr Alastair Smith, Chief Executive of Avacta Group commented:
"I am very pleased to learn of the promising evaluation of the Affimer reagents in Integumen's sensor systems. Once detailed validation of the sensors has been carried out using SARS-COV-2 virus samples at the University of Aberdeen, and we have reviewed those data, Avacta will provide a further update to the market."
Deepverge making good progress with Avacta's Affimers as per their RNS this am. Great news
I have just followed up an email I sent to Gordon Brown last year, fair play he has been good at promoting testing throughout the pandemic.
Avacta MHRA registration.
Potentially very good news for Carclo, Mologic, GAD, BBI, Abingdon, Omega.
AstraZeneca Indian headquarters and manufacturing site, is within 5 miles of Carclo's Indian factory.
AZ also have stated a desire to increase their diagnostic testing capabilities.
Avacta's chairman has also links with AZ.
All fits together.

My current development project is a SARS-COV-2 (COVID 19) nasal swab lateral flow device for the detection of s1 protein on behalf of Avacta.
This is the bit in the latest RNS I was thinking about...
In relation to CTP...
"As previously announced, the division has secured significant new business in the second half of the year mainly related to the medical sector and consisting of both COVID and non-COVID related products. It is particularly pleasing to note that alongside increasing demand from existing customers, the division was also able to secure new customers. As a consequence, tooling orders were particularly strong as the division prepares for volume increases of existing products and the introduction of new ones. A strong focus on cash generation has enabled the division to make significant investments in capital expenditure to support its ability to deliver on anticipated future production contracts without increasing net debt."
From Ozaztec on the AVCT BB, thanks.

Supply of Product and Manufacturing Engineers for UK Lateral Flow Team (LFT) Upscale Project Accelerator Team.

Uk manufacturing accelerator team, to help to pull capacity together. Fits nicely with the new CAR 24/7 teams and machines for diagnostic test plastics manufacture (+ recent RNS).
Would help explain the rise yesterday.
In my opinion, this is great news for UK manufacturing, AVCT, ODX, BBI, ABDX, GAD, CAR.
AVCT have repeatedly stated that the limiting factor in test production is available manufacturing capacity. The Gov have been listening.
This could also help to explain the technical plastics company, Carclo's (CAR) unexpected 15% rise yesterday on no news, they have been strongly linked with the AVCT test over the last 6 months.
It is all fitting together nicely.

The only other good bit was the intent to de-regulate clinical trials. Making it easier to fast track, this is just what we needed with our pipeline of trials programmed for the next 2 years.

Wonder if he will start teeing up the sovereign test..

Strange to put this message out!
Think it's great confirmation though.
Looks like Carclo (CAR) are ready to run the presses for the volumes we require.
Just an extract from their trading update this morning. Note the reference to new customers.

I feel things are starting to come out into the open, for our test.

It would be interesting to have some feedback on what hours they are working at either Whetherby or Sand Hutton.
Out of interest, I had another out of hours walk round Carclo's Mitcham production facility last Sunday night.
Lights on, carpark half full, obviously working 24/7, something appears to be brewing.
Perhaps they are contracted to GAD plus others for the Avacta test, as they mentioned a massive 19 year contract for a global OEM, supplying disposable diagnostics products.
Everything seems to be falling into place.
