The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Further to all the recent indications that something big is afoot, incl AVCT's 21st Dec RNS and the weekends titbit's, Carclo's (CAR) executive Chairman has yesterday purchased c300,000 (50k) of their shares.
This follows their 23 Dec RNS confirming a 10 year framework supply agreement, for the manufacture of complex medical diagnostic disposable devices.
Could it be that all these recent signals are linked and that a massive AVCT RNS is about to drop, hence our recent share price movement?
Just maybe something is brewing!

Framework Agreement
Carclo plc, a global provider of value-adding engineered solutions for the medical, optical, electronics and aerospace industries, announces that its Carclo Technical Plastics ("CTP") division has signed a framework agreement with a major global OEM for the manufacture of complex medical diagnostic disposable devices (the "Framework Agreement")"
This also fits in with nicely with AP's David Tigger thread last Friday.

So this is very interesting....Fri 19:03
“Serious food for thought! Can't understand why we are not using the Avacta fast tests which use saliva to test for Covid and at a far greater accuracy. Lateral flow tests in current use have accuracy same as tossing a coin!”
Written by a NHS England patient leader when responding to the Deek’s criticism.
I had assumed he was an investor but clearly not.
Doesn’t follow Alastair, Avacta etc and no hashtag so it wasn’t picked up by the usual suspects. Nothing in his history suggests an interest in the investment side. All about tests, covid vaccine etc.

Very intriguing."
It is potentially encouraging that one of our long term and extended partners Moderna, are just landing a massive cash haul. Many billions. They shoukd become aggressive in the industry to sweep up companies that would offer them a market edge in years to come. Avacta seem perfectly placed!
News on the commissioning of the new Affimer volume generating machine would also be great.
We need to be able to keep up with the massive numbers of tests being lined up for manufacture.
Alistair has been quoted in the last q&a that it should be ready to fly by the end of this November.
Great find..well dug up.
This was a concern of mine regarding affimers.
Now looking forward to the results from the Daewoong Indonesia trials and hopefully affimers will be added to the next batch.
+Promising for the ava600 trials.
This fits in great with the time line outlined in the directors talk of the 30 sept, 3 mins in. Self cert for professional use by the year end.
All falling into place!

Daily mail. Big pinch of salt
Thanks Pigster, That sort of explains it, are they sending out a message?
Directors talk seems like an outlet for the company to put out guidance in an informal way.

Just seen this on Twitter, anyone got any thoughts. Looks very strange to me.
Hi xxxyyyzzz,. Think your being somewhat harsh.
AVCT share price has moved from 13p to 177p in the last 9 months, with the potential of greater increases in the next few weeks/months to come.
The team has worked wonders in what have difficult conditions, with split shift & remote working, due to distancing constraints,
as AL described the other day.
Additional space is now available, so back to full strength and firing away on all cylinders.
Things will be just fine.

Thanks for posting.
Avacta get a good mention.
“Testing technologies of Government interest
The Government is supporting innovation for improved testing technologies, both laboratory-based and more recently for tests that can be carried out at scale and at the point-of-care. The Government is also exploring whether other samples can be used, such as saliva rather than nose and throat swabs. Several companies mentioned in a recent Government statement are working on this:
Avacta: a laboratory test using mass spectrometry on nose and throat swabs and on saliva samples. The company is also developing an antigen saliva test.
Chronomics: a laboratory PCR test that can be carried out on saliva samples.
MAP Science: a laboratory test using mass spectrometry on saliva samples.
Oxford Nanoimaging: is developing a portable technology that uses microscopy to detect whole virus in samples including saliva.”
Massive =>colossal. World wide
As Ben highlighted
- 'To meaningfully impact the R number need to be testing around half the UK population each week, so looking at a region of 30,000,000 tests a week'
Massive
It's his office, with the filing cabinets behind - very professional and tidy. Think I can see the take away menu for the Wetherby Whaler
Your not missing much at the moment.
It gives you the choice to change the player used which worked for me.
It also includes a testing station at Heathrow airport!
