Hi Mountainous. You hit the nail on the head there and what I posted on Friday was that this is just part of "exploring all options". Regarding Cineplex, I think out of court settlement is definitely a good option now and I still believe that legal fees + small fine should settle things. Look at it from their perspective - take some money to cover your losses and shake hands, not too bad at the end of the day.

short positions do not have to be closed, at least from what I know it's not a must in all circumstances, there exists a form where they can opt in for cash settlement with the owner but it all depends who they borrowed it from.

the SP can go both ways, the sentiment is very negative here, maybe some will rush for the exit (who couldn't sell on Friday) and we'll be back at 2p. I'm considering all options and try to prepare for a negative SP movement

the question is whether to buy if it drops to 2p or lower without news. Maybe not worth the risk with a relatively low average but if the average is high who knows... It can all disappear of course but if a rns says "we've found a solution and can survive" I reckon this goes to 16p+ in an instant. Hard to read this one we just don't know what's happening behind closed doors

HNS, if those numbers are accurate, we could have raised it before Wednesday... at least the bare minimum to survive.

@Tegop, I don't trust the media. Everywhere they say "potentially" or according to some sources (but not anyone from Cineworld). If we get a confirmation that CINE has enough liquidity to survive at least until the end of the year my strategy would be to just hold.

Tegop, not talking about the acquisition. Usually, a fine is a few %s of the original deal. 1.2$bn is just insane, I can only guess but they would be lucky to get anything above 100m.

I very much doubt that Cineplex shares any sympathy with us. It wouldn't be a catastrophe for them if CW goes belly up. Yes, they lose on legal fees etc. but not a game changer. For us, on the other hand this payout is everything. I would assume a realistic out of court settlement is a few % from the deal + expenses. Cineplex may not be happy about it but this would be fair.

we should all thank Barbara for her shrewd judgement on synergies, maybe she could be kind enough to find a billion on our balance sheet, that would come in very handy for negotiations with the lenders.

In any case, I think the minimum we can expect is a clarification RNS. When it's official you can make a decision. For me it wouldn't really make a difference if I sell right now but I'm not buying either, not prepared to lose anymore on top of my biggest loss up to date.
