Anton, they've added ~90m shares since I started following Tullow which dates back a few years. If they want to get share awards etc. then maybe buying at 3.5p and keeping shares "in treasury" is the right way to do that.

They should simply buy from the market, especially at these prices. The vote is still open which might affect future remuneration policy!

Makes no sense that! You borrowed a chunk at 5p and sold. Now the SP is 20p and you're telling the IIs: "grain of salt, those where so hopeless so take some mere compensation and I'll throw in a couple of beers." I'm afraid, you'd need to stick in equity equivalent. But you're right, there's nothing to worry about, they should wait until the SP is back to 39p.

But what is their long term vision? Do you see them in the government in 15-20 years? People want change, they always do because every government becomes unpopular towards the end of their term (sometimes earlier) and reforms are needed every now and then but going from a couple of MPs to a majority in a single term is risky, wouldn't you say?

This also implies that 40% of production is not subject to any ceiling price! Your posts convey a false message that there's a ceiling price and that Tullow cannot benefit from high oil prices.

Yes, I know that, my question was why is there a sudden drop in July futures? From $116 on Tuesday to $100 is extreme volatility. There's a certain correlation in Tullow's intraday SP and Brent spot. A sudden drop on open, followed by further weakness then a clear minimum and a bounce back.

Any thoughts on why Brent futures are so deep in the red all of a sudden?

The 1.8% short might not hold beyond 20p. If bulls apply a bit more pressure there's a good chance to turn that short into fuel for our rocket. Unfortunately, Pictet got off the hook.

Because they are spineless jelly babies! Bonds traded at 70% when they had money in the bank, RM confirmed during last year's AGM that they could buy some from open market but they never did. Credit rating is in the mud anyway so what stopped them from buying $40-50m worth of heavily discounted notes?

@xxnjr glad you brought up McDade and Afentra, was thinking about his time at Tullow the other day and RM was also there... Paul came up smelling of roses, set up his own oil exploration company with focus on Africa.

Yeah but not a pile of bad debt at 15% interest. Rahul told us 5 years ago that we will achieve 1.0x or less by 2025. Having followed Tullow for many years I don't think they are hawkish enough on the debt situation. Why have they repaid just $100m [2026 notes]? We had $80m from Kenya alone!

It really depends from what perspective you look at today's update. Just as a reminder, in December last year many predicted that TLW will not last until May 2026. Today the BoD confirmed that they expect TLW to continue operations as per the going concern [low estimates] well into 2027. Now that must be really uncomfortable for shorters because what profit can you squeeze out of a short position here? They might believe that Tullow stock is traded for pennies becasue it's a "debt paying zombie". A frog is placed in tepid water that is slowly heated by Tullow's own gas and it will be boiling before you know it!

You guys are digging too deep for such a disappointing SP performance. I'd be more interested to know when will Ghana pay the gas bills.

Crazy euphoria on the market this morning, airlines are 10% up, overpriced investment banks are up by a big percentage too and oilers are under the cosh, including TLW that hit the 13p glass ceiling, its SP suppressed over the last couple of weeks.
