I think all the pain is already taken in this sector maybe 10% drop at most. The market expects the worst and is trading at that level. Barring unexpected wars or more movement down in the pound sub 1 euro that would be nasty.

Welcome cm. The main reason imo is due to forecast numbers. Current performance or the next 6 months does very little for the share price.( may pull it down even if good news ). The markerts are looking at the next 2 to 5 years that's the problem in this sector very cautious over the long term numbers and built into the mt stocks.

Interesting but could even be better than anticipated. Still think little movement on share price. Not trying to be negative just realistic. Some would say an atmosphere hoover.

Yorkshireman it should be good news as these transactions are for cancellation meaning fewer share's in issue but small numbers when u look at the total number. Every little helps.

Anon its a very long hold take the small divi and wait till summer 2018 to return to 70p plus. Its turned into a pup.

I think the news will be good on the 12th however as i have already mentioned its not about now or the next 6 month's its about the next 2 year's that will push the share price up. That's the problem no confidence that the motor trade can deliver good returns going forward long term. This will hold the share back in the 50s.

Massive caution in this sector but do believe if the cake gets smaller vertu will take a bigger slice of it and great aftetsales with their service plans. Performance does not mean share price improvement its all about future numbers.

Jolly still think 55p by xmas. Strong first 6 months trading numbers on the 12th plus good September update.

I agree i don't see any of the bigger player's getting their debit cards out to the tune of 350m increasing their gearing in this climate. I see the big groups including Vertu to continue buying up smaller groups and one man bands until they control most of the market place maybe then some might merge on a cash plus share bias 10 years plus imo dyor.

Lookers went mad this week based on pending half year trading update. Hopefully will help this stock hit 50 plus next week. Along way to go from where it once was but getting better each week.

Are we due a trading update? This share has been hit hard and is slower to recover than pdg and lookers, needs some good numbers and forecasts. Aftersales should be strong.

I know its dipped somewhat but would have taken this price at the start of the week. Have a great weekend, anyone want to guess the price next Friday. 48p
