Just a thought, but rather than clogging up the board with a copy/paste of the same message you've sent multiple times, perhaps wait until the results are released next month. Do this, knowing anything anyone says here is totally irrelevant. That's enough repetition now. Thanks.

Nothing news worthy ever posted to this board before it's posted elsewhere, and I've tired of those baiting for a bite and those willing to rise to it. If you're long on this share, sit back and stop posting every ten minutes. If you're shorting to any meaningful degree, you won't be posting on an amateur message board. Nothing that is said here will ever influence the sp up or down. Try to keep the board for relevant news or discussing actual trade-note worthy figures.

They would need close to half of their subscribers to pay the full amount, on top of their subscription, to get anywhere close to what they would have hoped to achieve with a theatrical release. So at 15%, it will be a break-even exercise rather than a shareholder pleasing money spinner. If they believed it would make good money in the current political climate, they would have simply held its release like the rest of their titles. Hence, its a political decision and a commercial 'toe in the water'.

250m USD would be considered 'commercial wastage' levels of ROI on a 200m budget. Compare to something with a similar budget, such as The Jungle Book in 2016 (c. 200m adjusted for inflation). The box office there was over 950m. Estimates of revenue split vary between films, but suffice to say Disney won't be excited by 250, or even 350m, even if all of that remains exclusively on their books. They would have hoped to do much better on a theatrical release, as evidenced by the fact the film was originally slated for one. A political decision dressed as a commercial experiment, which follows years of 'straight to VHS' releases.
