Okay. So the takeover, and PIs profiting from it, are not imminent? Because one could be forgiven, upon reading this board, for thinking it was going to happen soon. If you're now saying it won't be before next December, aren't you agreeing with me?

Just a regular guy, who buys and sells shares. I didn't keep any cine shares (not that anyone here should care) as I was happy with my profit. I'm not fussed by what other people make of that. Would you have me tell the board when I sell solg? Likewise, I don't think anyone would or should care...

Make your investment choices. Believe there will be a takeover. It's all good. I don't think there will be, and I'm as convinced of my position as the people on here were a year ago that we'd be sold by now... "But the underlying story, it's changed, it's really changed!!".

Give me a timeframe, Add. When do I need to still be right by for you to climb down from that stance? This AGM? Feb? Want to call it before May next year? I'm patient, so I don't mind Dec '23 if you're not willing to accept it until then?

The announcement represents not much more than further hyperbole. Got to convince the plebs we have a plan, and we've used the 'next cab off the rank' line, so announce a strategic review. I can name two major shareholders who won't be interested in any 'action' if the review came to nothing... The same two whose CEOs don't really care about solg just yet.

As I say, I'm happy to be proved wrong. But I don't think I will be. Next week, next month, next December, we'll still be here, and those who are in too deep will still be peddling the idea of an imminent takeover.

I bought in April 2020. Left on a 40% profit. Made enough to upgrade the car. Said at the time that they would survive the next debt restructure, which they did. And the two after that.

Again, there was a strong de-ramp narrative that had taken hold there, trying to spook investors by claiming they would collapse in the next few months. They didn't, so my advice was sound.

I didn't post again once I wasn't invested (not my style). But the fact I took my profit showed nicely that I didn't believe the company could go on to survive the headwinds indefinitely.

Love the $/£ hair-splitting that takes place on here, when we're talking about the world's biggest miner. Like they might suddenly look at their balance sheet and go 'oh no- £7bn cash, not 8?! We're ruined!' lol

Once again, either I'll be right next December or most on here will be. No one has changed my mind today, and I did say I wasn't interested in people trying. Particularly if they didn't bring any fresh evidence besides the usual conjecture, based in this boards biased read of past events/statements (which is on heavy rotation here).

Not aiming to upset anything (spooking some small time PIs out of shares makes no difference to my strategy). I just objected to the often one-sided, 'conjecture sold as fact' that so many on this board are guilty of. You rarely get 'i think there will be a takeover but there is actually very little evidence to support my view' from folk on here.

Glad to have been able to provide a counterpoint today. It's risky to invest in a hypothetical takeover which has been discussed for years, but hasn't happened. Someone reading the board today would have seen a bit more balance. :)

Red: one word answer to almost everything you asked: hope. Just 'hope'.

Time is literally the only way to find out who is right, and as I say, I'll eat humble pie if I'm wrong. But to cycle back to my original point: BHP don't think about us the way most on here hope they do. Sorry!

I don't think much will have materially changed by next December (2023). We might have handed back some more concessions to limit cash burn. We might have either had a raise or done another royalty deal. We may well have an new CEO and probably another different CFO. But solg will still be saying things like 'we've got another cab to come off the rank' and 'we expect a total re-rate in the sp'. This strategic review probably won't yield much more than this hyperbole has in the past, as we don't control whether others want to JV with us, or buy our assets. Those have been options for years, and they haven't happened.

Once again, I know this opinion is contrary to most on here, and I know it's unpopular, so I'll happily admit it if I'm wrong by next Dec. I don't think the same will be true for others on here that are too married to their takeover narrative.

Our own website only suggests we'll be top 20 in South America. Once it's built. And that's us trying to spin it for investors, because 'it should hopefully be top 100 in the world' doesn't have the same ring to it...

Listen, I'm done here for now. I'm invested, not overly leveraged. I think there's potential to make money here, but I'm not in desperate need of a BHP takeover, so I'm not going to switch to your view that it's just around the corner. It isn't. And if you want to admit I'm right before the 2023 AGM, that's big of you. If, as so many on here imply, there isn't even a 2022 AGM, I'll be back to issue my sincere apologies and eat humble pie.

Careful Fort. You've recalled how some of the other message board members on here have represented BHP's behaviour since they took a stake, rather than fact. You've then used this to evidence their level of engagement with solg. I don't think the big wigs at BHP have done half the stuff they are credited with by disgruntled investors here, so for me that doesn't prove they care.

We're one of their many investments. We represent a fraction of a percentage of their total investment in assets. They really don't care as much as people here would love to believe. I'm sorry. I know it hurts to hear it if your investment strategy is reliant on them being just about to pounce.

And as for the pocket change comment, a fair price for solg is still pocket change for BHP. It would barely lower their div.

We have an early stage (pre-DFS) concession that should be viable as tier one if it gets the go ahead etc. Spend some time counting how many other companies at similar/later stages BHP have a minority stake in. Then consider that, whilst they will have an eye on the future, they also run the world's biggest current mining operations. Again, we will be mentioned occasionally as a foot note, but my point remains unchanged: to read this board you would think BHP are really bothered about solg, and they are just not to that extent. I'm sorry. I know it doesn't fit the narrative.

If we were of significant interest, they could have taken us out for small change at any point in recent years.

Twigger never named BHP- that was guessed at (probably correct, but no certainty. Why not NMC?)

And BHP have set up an exploration company in Ecuador, which explains meetings: trying to get concessions cheap, no doubt. That's a much more likely cause of the meetings than to discuss their minor investment in solg.

If a company like BHP are to exercise their votes at AGMs, which they always do, then a junior member of the explorer monitoring team has to decide on a voting stance and action it, but my point remains: these aren't the actions of the senior management of the company. We just aren't that important to them!

Going through the motions. As I say, there will be a small team of people who, as part of their role, monitor their many smaller investments (inc those that haven't been deemed worthy of a JV yet). Don't get me wrong, they're not looking to lose their investment, but to read this board you'd think Solgold got mentioned at every BHP board meeting. Reality is we've probably only ever been an 'AOB' a couple of times throughout their entire investment history.. Do you think anyone there ever actually raised Twigger's response with the CEO? He hasn't been put on notice to 'put up or shut up' because there's literally no chance he ever read that RNS.

I'd be surprised if BHP even really noticed. Certainly their shareholders won't really care. 0.6% additional dilution of a c.£30-40m investment, that's years from generating revenue?
Not registering. BHP holders are much more interested in macro factors affecting the resources they already mine and sell. Someone in their explorer investment team might well clock this, ghost write an indignant press release and out it out as if a top bod said it, but we really don't show up as a speck on their radar.

Many years of trading have taught me to believe it when I see it. Personally I don't see much motivation for a bid from anyone. BHP keen on Ecuador but happy to explore for now. They know there is metal in the hills, and they have the best geologists and concession analysts $100b can buy. Newcrest might well be out before the AGM. Other nation states, wealth funds etc can wait and see- the 'impending' copper crisis isn't here just yet. So I think Solgold will still be here next year, as will the people here saying it's just about to be snapped up. My opinion, of course, but I don't need it 'corrected' by anyone who spends a significant amount of time on here. All the best!
