I was a holder back in 2015. The CEO was John Euston and he was an unmigated disaster fir RR. No ruddy idea about how to run RR. Even wanted to buy one of the biggest shipyards in Europe when shipyards were losing money hand over fist. He instigated a buy back to support the share price. He managed half of the buyback and the share price kept falling. He was ousted and Warren East took over and stopped it. Thank god.

Buy can be good for the share price but can also be seen as a negative, acting as a red flag that a company has stalled and run out of ideas how to progress. Also need to be aware that some directors bonuses and sometimes is linked to the share price rising

I can't remember the value of the buy back but 1 billion springs to mind, but I'm most probably misremembering it.

Further to my first post below, I can offer an alternative outcome.

Qatar have bought into RR SMRs to the tune of a couple of hundred million quid. Recently, Qatar has invested 1 billion pound into UK green tecnology via RR, with the promise of tens of billions pounds of investment over the next two yaers. Qatar is into the UK big time. I can't see the UK government saying to Qatar, 'Thanks for the investment of billions, but we won't be spending any of it on the RR SMRs you have bought into'.

Long time reader of this thread, now a first-time poster. Been a RR share holder since 1987 - so seen a lot of action on this share - I remember £12 +.

When leaders of the USA have visited the UK all PMs of both colours (Boris and after) have made the statement ' We have made good progress on the co-operation in the deployment of civil nuclear power' or a similar statement. I would suggest that co-operation is not along the lines of getting Rolls-Royce SMRs into the USA, more probably the reverse. Turbo Fan is doing a good job in keeping the UK population aware that we have one of the best reactor design and manufacture companies (I should know, I worked there for 37 years)

I hope I am wrong, but I get the uneasy feeling I'm not.
