Sounds very similar to me. Bought first shares when originally floated, 1987. Increased them over the years through sharesSaves, workbonus payments and salary sacrifices [both tax and NI]. Price has been all over the place since 1987 plus further omplicated by having paper certificates in the beginning and electronic for the later shares
I moved them all to a new broker and then transferred half to the missus. The book price got all mixed up during the moves and transfers .All sitting in an isa now. The missus is always on me to sell some.
I don't tell her how much they have gone up nowadays and I get my ear bent a bit about selling them. BTW. I'm 69, so maybe I should listen to her.
I haven't been clever I've just been bl**dy lucky. I hope it continues.
