The non-answer is everyone is different. That ain't an answer though, just me stating the ruddy obvious. However, all I can state for certain is it's a lot less than when we were both working. God only knows where our wages went. So the basics are covered by 2 state pensions and a small RR pension. This comes to about 2500 ish per month. The holidays and fun stuff comes from the SIPPS and the shares. Not useful information I know..

Thanks for your kind words. We never thought that we would end up in this situation. Always got by , by watching our spend and cutting our cloth accordingly. But had good luck by getting on my bike back in 84 and moving from Tyneside to Derby and working for Royces. All come good now.

The managing the inheritance liabilities of our SIPPS got shot to pieces due to the changes Reeves brought in and the fact we don't have any direct decendents. So a joint SIPP of 820k is going to get robbed blind ( no I'm not Willie waving) Add on the ISAs and we don't stand a chance when the tax man comes calling. Can only spend it and hope for a long life.

I know it's a good problem to have, so nobody get upidee about it as we've both worked hard since 16 years old.

Daft question, or maybe not. At what point do you say enough is enough. I'm 70 in Feb, so should I be switching into cash. I know, it all depends on my financial situation and the the risk I hold.
