Share didn’t fall, its in the area just where its been for a while, which seems a fine area pending further news, last few days just shot up and back on a bit of froth/ manipulation, that should be ignored, built on over expectation of stunning news, far better steady as she goes and a good price.now, hope it holds and neither soars nor tumbles too fast

map it is not the fault of the market but silly investors sucked in at 40. If they weren’t buying price couldn’t be that as there wouldn’t be buyers for those dampers selling. Moral of the story is buy when a share is trundling along and you work out undervalued, don’t be tempted to top up if rises exponentially, buy when tumble as no share rises exponentially on no particular new news. On,y buy in the lower 20’s or below, sell some in low 40’s, rebut if tumble to 20’s again otherwise be happy with profit, repeat.
You win and lose lots on this one as I know having been here since early 2000’s when price was 3000% more than today!

Daggermail. A key competitor to gold for our savings are bonds which pay the going interest rates. As the rate of interest goes up, gold becomes less attractive. That is the easy bit. You have to throw inflation into the equation to see what real interest rate you get. Therefore it might be better to look at the ten-year tips which are the inflation proofed bonds. Then longer term gold will move up if the difference between the nominal 10 year rate and the Tips inflation proof rate is falling and vice versa. This rate has recently been around -2%. So will rates rise faster than inflation or vv. my bet is inflation will outweigh rates, so gold should ultimately rise

nobody on this planet who could justify 50% rise last week either. It is highly volatile but that is just noice. We are just back to where we are, having neither risen nor fallen over the fortnight

A. The forward PE is considerably higher than you suggest as profits predicted by management to take a tumble this year
B. However share prices are forward looking, over 2022 and 2023 profits will come back as profits rise costs fall, expectation of which should take us back through the 200
C. So fundamentals may be more useful than charts just now looking at Cey imho

It closed in USA at 2.165, 3p or 1.5%up on Uk, but silver is down .25% since then so we may not open with as big a rise as you hope. With the hedge, gold price outweighs silver for us, and gold is flat on last night now

Strong pound reduces the price of Cey in sterling, gold only went from £12.80 to £12.85 in pounds today

Pedro remember we are less than half silver and a third of that is hedged so around 25 or 30% of our output affected by rising silver price. However that is still lovely if silver rises and helpful if it falls

I think it is a third of silver sales hedged, assuming output rises 30% from last year which looking at overall company prediction is about what I expect

Why is it ridiculous, that was the price 6 trading days ago and then it felt rather good

If you read superforecasting we on this board, together, should be far better than the analysts as long as some of us give reasons for selling as well as buying, and continue to contribute while waiting to come back in. I also appreciate those who change their mind, like Eva, who moved rapidly from it’s going up to £3 to it’s going down.

MP Mats mines are an old producer of rare earth, Hoc has never produced any. The MP mines were driven into bankruptcy by the Chinese reducing prices to knock them out, and are now being revived. We are just doing feasibility and only after that will we find if/when profits will come our way. Hence not included yet in our price by the market, till something to include imho

Mike, personally I think Cey is fair value now so would be neither seller nor buyer, gold too fickle to predict but what we do know is we should have a decent Cey recovery in a couple of years, so in a year or so the market will be looking forward to that. So remain a holder getting 7.75% divi while waiting, or go elsewhere if you think you can make more than that this year in capital appreciation.my little sideline OMI has done 35% on the shares I bought last Friday, but only bought a few as so speculative

Gold has extraordinary way of confounding, in a way it is a perfect market in that when everyone thinks one thing the they have done it so the opposite happens. Also rising real interest rates are the real whammy that trounce the other points

Finally the realised gold price for 202 was about $50 higher than it is now, but assumptions going forward are for falling gold and silver prices for next 5 years pretty conservative: gold this year 1937 then 1823,1684,1452, 1400; silver 26.4,21.8,21, 19.2, 17.8

Expecting results to be as predicted, we have had them pretty much in the 4th quarter results recently, so not bad as had a hunk of the year before the wall problems, this year is the worst, hence our share price. Hopefully some good news to make up a little for lousy 2021 on new concessions in Egypt, and W Africa mines but this never seems to come…
