Dagger thanks for your lovely post, I haven’t started the building work. I have planning permission, all the architect’s drawing and engineering is done. In Aug I instructed builders again but while they were sorting building control etc gold began to fall and now Cey has halved, my husband keeps hassling me and I just keep drawing the start out and have to say it is my fault that we can’t start now waiting for it to turn, but it just gets worse and worse and as we all know what has halved can halve again, that is why I worry, not a natural pessimism, but if we start And it takes 18 moths I could be having to sell shares in 6 months or a year for far less.

No, the last agm I attended was 20 Oct 2016 at FTI consulting in Aldersgate, tho I had correspondence with Mr Salazar who always thanked me for my continued support, but turned out disappointing especially when he told me in 2016 that the company was profitable with gold at $1250 an ounce, and gold rose above that but profits never arrived. So I sold half and rather ignored the rest. No my share posts if you look back are immaterial of movements, if you look back to earlier in the decade I expect I probably posted more than anyone else which is not saying a lot. Sorry you didn’t have it in you to to apologise for bad breath, or explain its meaning in investment, but maybe it was the slip of a tongue from playground times. Maybe you could be more tolerant, the day to day movements are just noise and ultimately this share will rise or fall on what gold is found and how profitably it can be sold. That view is not versatile, just fundamental, and it is different views that make this board for me. Thank you for your hard work but civility improves society, hence the word

Bhargav, why do you need to say I have bad breath, I have found your posts often useful and informative if just one view and have never insulted you personally when you have a different view to mine. I have known this share a very long time and have managed to turn buying them at 350p into a profit by very bravely averaging down, my. experience is if you worry about missing the boat on any particular day you can buy lower on another, the point for me is to take a longer term view in which case the current price is looking pretty good compared to the last few years. Bhargav this is not only your board, I remember posting when there was only one post every few days, there is no need to be unnecessarily and pointlessly rude, as well as sharing your often helpful views- I don’t think breath, mine yours or anyone else’s, has anything to do with the further price of Omi, unless I misunderstood and it is a technical term. On another note lovely to see some old UGY holders here, I used to go to board meetings but I was the only one, II now own the emits of these I have owned in a couple of years but believe highly speculative, as the prospective gold to be found fights that amount future discounted which becomes worth less as/if gold tumbles

I don’t thing Centamin is a lifeboat and remain resolutely in the ship watching ever bigger icebergs waves and holes, my problem is I am very very slow to ever bail out, haven’t here apart from a small percentage since late 2015 when I rejoined the ship having been frightened out in 2013. Now I am waiting in the ship for the pick up. It could be a long time with teeth chattering and no champagne. Feels like 2013 again, can’t wait for 2016. Final thought, when I am at my gloomiest the market usually turns, maybe I am not quite gloomy enough yet tho I notice the pundits are turning down which may be good news. I would be far more sanguine if didn’t need the money now, but will just have to postpone my building. Good luck all

Hiya Razor. I just didn’t understand where the illuminating Gnome thought what would fall to when he posted “ I think ‘ it’ will drift to $10050p”. On my opinion of the direction I am no more feeding shorters than I feed rampers when I post reasons gold will rise. I remain neither but a long term holder wondering if stupid to hold now. I think it important to have both voices here, they make the market. However as Gnome points out the company will need to become even more efficient to weather this as in 2013 to 2015 so should come out stronger as it did then. Just may be v miserable between imho

Mercedes I don’t want to curb your excitement or your dreams, but….Gosh I too used to own well over 1%, it was lovely to go to the AGM thinking so, but it was very expensive in the end, as the management kept springing horrid surprises, particularly as gold rose the Aisc unexpectedly rising each time much faster, so the mine became more and more unprofitable till it folded. I took a 6 figure loss on half my holding. Hope you fare better. On another note why does anyone think with these appalling charts and rising rates that gold should revisit $2000?

WhereGnome? As far as I can see gold I s no longer in a correction but a bear. If the bond (and gold) 20year bull has turned then it is impossible to predict a bottom - this year could very well be loss making for us, as I have said for a while profits will be much lower, because of $200 an ounce non aisc Capex on top of the aisc. Unfortunately we enter this bear as one of the highest cost producers, however we have the cash to ride to 2024 when we are scheduled to get back to 2018 output nd costs, (tho with higher profit share and maybe lower gold).
I can see governments would like to keep interest rates down, Tho markets don’t want to let them, so it is possible inflation will shoot up and gold reverse, but not on the cards jus now, other than a suckers’ rally. Sorry to feel so gloomy but look at the gold charts.

Yes gold and Cey due a bounce soon before going on down, could be quite a big bounce taking gold back to 1900 or even a bit higher, and Cey up to 130 or so if we are lucky and we can open our parachutes up there.

sianhan gold has been falling for over 6 months, the fall is accelerating and it is down now over 20%, in sterling that counts for us , ie a bear, plus we have just seen a death cros and below 200 day.
Yes gold will go back up but I’m not at all sure about shortly

I think the gold collapse is probably hurting it, as many explorers sums become less and less profitable

Really any or all as so hard to predict where prices will be when we start producing, and of course if Chines thwack prices down to deter anyone else coming into the market

Interesting that while gold has fallen 20% since Aug rare earths have doubled, increasing profitability from mining them hugely. I wonder if our share price is yet taking any account of this

I wouldn't whinge or say this is an inexplicable fall, actually here hasn't been a sustained drop but a 1000%+ rise with last summer's good news from just a few pence to the area it has been in the last 3 months; our share price was almost exactly where it is today on Jan 13th, a bit lower on Dec 13th, about the same as now on Nov 13th, the aberrations was the second shoot up to 40p. In the current range the shares have taken account of current news and are awaiting further which could take a little while, in the meantime falling gold doesn't help reducing the value of unproved gold in the ground
I have no idea what Crystal Ball Bhargav is using to say the shares should end in the blue today, mine is considerably murkier
