I take the reverse view MFM.
Do look at NCYT. Savour a British success story. Think of all the funds flowing ito the AIM market. Consider that eventually much of them will have to find a "next destination".
Consider that NCYT'S success is yet another validation of the testing market.
They are not our competitors.
We can't ride every wave (altho well done those here who are in both).
But we are also doing all right thankyou!

It appears that a scientist working with PHE who are re evaluating the accuracy of their antibody test has been derogatory about the Ulster methadology.
I am not posting anymore over there since my presence there will be as welcome as a fart in a space suit but if your in ODX read the link re comments of Dr Hilary Jones (not the Daily Mail nonsense) and form your own conclusions.

Up to you whether or not to discount what Prof Deeks is saying.
But perhaps unwise to ignore the views of Dr Jones who has been working with PHE on an evaluation of the Latest Ulster Study and seems to make reference to the earlier one too.
Whatever your opinion of PHE they will be publishing their evaluation shortly with press conference etc.

There are two separate studies EkXoc.
There is the self test usability study reported as having been completed in the RNS of 7 September. The RNS gave no details of the conclusions if any of that test. Thats the one that had 2000 participants.
Then separately there was a preliminary report of an independent evaluation of the test reported on by RNS of Friday 2 October. Its this second evaluation that appears to have been criticised in the sciencemediacentre article.

I get the impression that NCYT are well organised and well connected and have an enviable history in the diagnostic sector. They obviously have a great sales team. They were very quick out of the blocks and are deservedly benefitting.
Are they now peaking?
Who knows.
Re AVACTA for me its all about these little magic proteins affimers.
OK our ceo Big Al fills us with confidence when he explains complicated science in a way even I can understand.
OK we are working in partnership with many respected industry names.
OK we are assisting regulators to frame antigen test requirements and negotiating with governments.
OK our soon to be validated BAMS mass spectrometer test has advantages over existing PCR.
OK our gamechanging lateral flow test is on the way (the main obstacle being how to find enough manufacturing capacity).
OK we have the potential to deliver cancer chemotherapy without side effects.
But none of that (and much more ) would be possible without our unique sensitive but robust, exquisite but inexpensive little proteins.

Sometimes worldchanging inventions are at first unappreciated before their time eventually comes. Most of us on this board think that the affimers time has come.
The share Price of some of the other Covids may have performed better than us over the last eleven weeks but can any of them even begin to expound a USP like the one that excites us on here?

Presumably Pigster MAPSciences will be using either antibodies or aptamers or similar synthetic molecules for their tests.
We know that none of these are likely to rival affimers for easyness cheapness robustness and speed?

A reliable source (see our last presentation)tells us that 75% of current Covid infections in the US and the EU are a new strain and there are significant doubts over whether antibodies from the old strain afford any protection (even if they would against the old strain)

Isn't it great when alls going well with the share price. Those of us who are balls deep can relax and enjoy.
This is the other side of the investing coin from that time in June when we halfed in value or that time last week (only last week???) when the butterflies came back as we contemplated a possible breach of 140).
Of course even in the more difficult times those of us who have no doubt about the basis for our investment don't really worry.
Many will remain serene as retraces come and go enroute to sailing past £5 and beyond.

All the AIM CovId testing stocks will be making money in the next 6 months.
Good for investors and actually good for the country too as good testing leads us back to the new normal.
Only trolls and malcontents will want to transform this into a …...swinging contest between the companies involved.

My view gkb is that ODX will be alright with their tests antibody and others based on the premise that every decent test provider will be alright.
However I don't hear government sources referring to antibody tests as gamechangers nowadays like Boris did in April and i think an inference can be drawn from the fact that no government contract is signed yet when that was expected a couple of months ago and the MOU is nearly up (if not already?)
Maybe Mr King will prove me wrong at Mondays presentation.

You know how hopeless i am at predictions but I think this is a week in which we have condolidated very strongly and built a great platform for growth.
Cant rule out retraces but don't expect any significant ones until the announcement of the pilot batch and timetable later this month. imo thats when the blue touchpaper is lit if not before.

Point is that anyone manufacturing saliva LFD'S has no choice. They either use affimers or an inferior substitute.
If they don't use affimers with consent of AVCT their performance will be inferior or perhaps even useless.
I agree with PL75. what that American CEO said when admitting defeat on saliva LFD's and what LFD sceptics say in general These statements are encouraging and honest summaries of the saliva LFD prospects without affimers.
No wonder there is a rumour that SONA want affimers.
No wonder Mologic haven't said a word about their own alleged LFD saliva test (would be lovely btw if they are in fact planning or in the end plan to use affimers).

Apart from a Bank or Building Society account or Government Bonds can anyone think of a safer investment over the next six month period than AVCT?
I suggest you'll need to come up with something that is
a) Protected from Covid related market falls
b)Has transparent communication and a CEO of integrity.
c)No need to raise funds in the near future
d) huge amount of pent up news to keep SP bubbling
e) an eagerly awaited product (not if but when) with prospective clients desperate for it.
f)the only real issue can we make enough

The AIM market is not a valuation tool like a chartered surveyor so its not "wrong".
It is however irritating glorious illogical heartbreaking hopefilling fascinating and lifechanging(good and bad).
None of us can stay away from it!
And I believe ultimately it will play its part in Avacta making our fortunes (oh and saving the world while its at it)
