I think we may be starting to rerate.

I agree to a certain extent that MM's are not the bogeymen we sometimes make them out to be. They are the reason we can trade.
As a result they have privileges to ensure they make money.
They have an unequalled sight of all factors affecting the price
They can without reporting build up substantial holdings of their own.
They can short a share.
They can legally manipulate a share price (it matters not whether up or down) to bring in more shares to enable them to do their jobs.
All that is why most amateurs who regularly try to day trade will be as likely to loose in the medium term as they would if they went daily to the casino!

Broadly speaking the imminent testing next week may be us and it may not be (we know for example the Government have bought some of the Abbott tests).
But as others have said whether or not we are part of next weeks testing (or to put it another way whether or not the pilot batch is completed yet) matters not to AVCT's prospects which are great

Although to be fair PL75 the tweet also refers to lateral flow tests.
For me the jury is out on whether these imminent tests are ours (though like you I suspect possibly not).

May not be ours but symptomatic of the kind of reporting that imo we will see more and more over the next few weeks as Journos scrabble to make sense of the "testing" picture. Like the rest of the Country they are desperate to identify the "Holy Grail"

Lateral Flow tests are ten a penny.
Pregnancy test style antigen point of care saliva Lateral Flow tests have been tried by a few. Many have failed.
There is no recognised standard against which to judge these tests or compare them with each other. Every company provides limited information.
Bottom line we all need to ensure that we are comfortable with the prospects for our own tests.

I suspect O & W that whether or not next weeks pilots are AVACTA's is not a huge issue for us. If the concept of pregnancy style LFD tests is being tested using an inferior test while we wait for the holy grail that would make sense.
That having been said its been a fortnight now that BBI have been working round the clock on our pilot batch and you would have thought that an RNS next week (as opposed to in the next few weeks) announcing its completion and future timelines for validation is not out of the question.
I'm very much liking the juxtaposition between Boris' excited waffle and Sir Al's calm insistence on quality and doing things right.

I guess like every test manufacturer in the UK they are likely to be working at full capacity for the foreseeable. They will be making their own judgements about which tests to manufacture and in what proportions based on all sorts of factors whether it be margins, availability of government subsidies or whatever.
One thing is for sure.
It no longer makes any sense to talk of competition between AVCT and ODX.

Makes no difference to ODX whether they make AVACTA's test (extremely likely) Mologics test or both.
They'll make money anyway!

with a work colleague today. His daughter apparently is a nurse in a large UK hospital (which I won't name). Apparently all the consultants are telling the staff that they would not be involved in vaccine trials and would not advise the staff to be either.
Really its become trite to say it on here but we are looking more and more like the countries best chance.
