Just because we want herd immunity doesn't make a damn of difference to whether or not we have it. There is an element of herd immunity for all transmissible diseases but we already know that Covid will mutate and bypass that immunity over fairly short periods of time. Herd immunity alone cannot provide enough cover for a virus that does that.

It may be that vaccine science can eventually beat this if they can make a covid vaccine that is more variant agnostic - but herd immunity - not a chance. You don't think that you will never get another cold every time you get another cold do you?

Covid reality, sentiment and political reaction will continue to wax and wane for some years to come and that's why the 'this Covid bull run is over' narrative doesnt fly for me. By the way - we heard the same narrative last spring...

Folks. The chances of another breakthrough variant are huge. Historically huge.

Omicron isn't even the variant that governments across the world need to have risk management plans for (well it was/is but they are very fortunate that it isn't as severe as Delta). It's still killing many thousands and putting kids into hospital.

Risk mitigation for the eventuality of a more severe/transmissible variant, that can bypass current levels of immunity, will require governments to stockpile therapeutics. USA will be first with massive order if P3 is successful.

If it works - just on current levels of hospitalisations across the world - SNG will not be able to keep pace with demand without licensing or being taken over.

Unfortunately the UK government Covid Risk Management Plan has this on page one - 'Save Boris'.

Mood is transient. We have seen it all before. Covid has not gone away (we have more deaths than we had this time last year) and with 100k new cases yesterday and getting all the commuters back on the trains and the kids without masks at schools - we know what will happen next.

Honestly and I know its anecdotal but where I live it is rife in the schools and amongst parent of school kids.

Those who say masks don't work don't have the desire to investigate whether that is true. Any barrier has some impact on the distribution of the virus. I have seen so many illustrated examples of how masks work to reduce transmission that I can no longer be bothered to argue with anyone who says they don't work. Bojo gave them an excuse not to bother yesterday.

We can't really second guess what Polar will do next but I don't see a reason to think they will just sell off all the shares. Almost certainly they intend to retain some/most for P3, after all we could get P3 RNS at any point in time now.

If Polar and Polygon were proven to be collaborating in that way it would be a jail time offence. I assume it isn't happening.

The net impact of both of them working this share is that it holds the SP in a tighter range. the mm's love liquidity and these funds are providing that.
