When you sell a share it is bought and held by an MM until they sell it. The MM will then try to sell those shares via a broker within the exchange. It isn't true that every buy has a sell and every sell has a buy. There is liquidity to consider. In fact the mm takes a risk every time they purchase a share as they may end up selling it at a loss if the SP moves quick.

Of course the mm is a canny entity and has high awareness of the current market and is likely to shift those shares quite fast more often than not.

It is not true that if I sell 1000 shares there is a equal buy for that amount. Those shares could find themselves part of an even larger buy or end up in many smaller buys.

Those two trades in this thread are IMO sells (although I'm on the fence with the second one). They added quite a lot of liquidity and subsequent buys have been able to take on those shares without putting upward pressure on the SP.

Most mm's are automated processes. So it's often a computer rather than an evil chap in a black suit trying to sc@w us over.

Todays market is a clear downside for Covid stocks. Sentiment changes every day so don't be surprised to see Covid stock back in vogue on a hint of new news. SNG is actually doing very well as it's supported by the eminent prospect of the P3 trial results.

They've all been up and down by way more than that over the last few years. Today is not unusual.

I don't deny the BRH price looks really good ahead of a handsome dividend but some of those Covid stocks will rocket if we get another variant or certain clinical trials are successful.

Always look across the market IMHO. some Covid stocks falling today on market sentiment today that shouldn't be. Good entry points.

Anyway this is the EUA board.....

I don't think you need to analyse the wording though I understand why we have done that.

No company issues an RNS about a dividend policy if they don't intend to issue a dividend.

They issued this RNS because they wanted to give full disclosure to investors that they intend to keep a significant part of the profits for future business interests.

The LSE RNS machine is broken - again!

20% (up to 20%) is a huge amount which is obviously flexible depending on the size of the deal. If you keep 20% of a massive deal without giving prior notice that you may do so prepare for heavy weight shareholders to not be happy about it. The policy gives full disclosure ahead of that.

All policies are written to provide full disclosure of what will happen in a given future circumstance.

Nobody issues a dividend policy via RNS unless they intend to use it.

Should a significant asset sale take place.... without a dividend policy and the BOD decides to take 20% of that value and keep it. How would shareholders react to that (PI's and II's are shareholders)?

Considering that a dividend policy does not need to be communicated via RNS. Why do people think that EUA chose to do so?

Anbe4 - it's certainly true we have equilibrium so far today. I agree with you on that. Just can't see Polar in it as per the way they sold into it on Friday. I suppose they could be nibbling away but looks like PI action to me.

It was fairly obvious that Polar were selling on Friday - lots of larger sells. Today I don't see that, Not yet anyhow.

Of course Polar might be waiting for the SP to lift a bit before they sell some more - who knows but I sense with the TR1 on Friday that they are done for now and have a set position ahead of the P3 results.

There is no evolutionary reason for a virus to become less dangerous through mutation. It's chance. Also the biggest single factor that drives mutation is volume of infections - which for Covid are exceptionally high. Hence this is not like any other virus and the risk of a virulent and more dangerous variant are unacceptably high - from a risk management perspective.

Look at China. They closed a city down last week because they had c.20 cases. People think this is mad. It isn't - it's practice. Western government are way way underplaying the risks deliberately to political and economic reasons. However if we do get a really nasty one the political and economic imperative changes very quickly and forces controls. Whatever it looks like today it won't look the same in about a months time because the virus doesn't care.

Plenty of time for the type of test that Paraytec has developed.

If there was any II action this morning it was the series of larger buys just after 8:15. It's been quiet since them. I thought it looked like Polar selling and someone else buying on Friday so maybe a TR1 for the buying side later today.

mm's just pushed the bid to 200p to tempt sellers. Its a psychological reference point being a nice round number so would be a good sign if they didn't find an II seller waiting in the wings again.
