Certainly at the end of last year I felt that it was likely that we would have results by end Jan. However in context I probably felt it was say 70% likely rather than certain.
In truth I can imagine many reasons why the analysis of the P3 data is taking longer than I would like it to. I think the reasons are likely to be systematic, process and judgement based rather than that they are taking longer than expected. It's a complex trial with outcomes that are hard to capture in an objective manner, which SNG has done a fantastic job of designing to anticipate those challenges.
There are more shades of grey in the analysis of this type of trial than people realise. They need to make sure that the results they publish (the interpretation of the data) meet the demands of rigorous expert judgement.
