Yes, for the British customer, the choice of food, drink and goods is incredible. You can buy 20p noodles at Lidl, or a £10 microwave meal at Waitrose.
For the British worker, tho, it is a scary time. Foreign competition is laying waste to the UK retail and supermarket industries.
Marks & Spencer, for example, is (just today) closing 1 in 4 of its big stores. Morrisons is plunging behind Aldi in the latest supermarket share stats. Tesco has slumped from 28% to just 27% UK grocery share since the start of the year. Aldi is growing nearly 10 times faster than Tesco. Aldi has grabbed 1.5 million extra customers in just a few weeks.
The UK downtrends are not good signals for the TSCO share price.
