I doubt SEPCO and GE see them as timewasting. Slow perhaps but at last there seems to be an appetite and action across Africa for power generation. Christ its frustrating but for years they have got it wrong, been ripped off, ripped themselves off or simply lacked the political will to get it done.

Finally something is moving. Having the SML last month or last quarter would have been nice but without the PPA its not really much use. And for some I doubt the issuing of one SML will alter the perception of the TG.

In fact as none as been issued its not just electrification they are stalling on but exploiting their own natural resources for their benefit (not the West's) if you follow that logic.

Correct boff they are sat on them in a big building. In fact there is a whole ministry of energy and ministry of mining sat on their arses doing nowt and deliberately stalling and sabotaging every effort. If you believe the Ministry of energy website and tanesco they are actually generating more that they currently use! So makes you wonder why they are bothering at all. Yes it’s slow but I doubt there is a massive conspiracy to prevent further electrification.

However if the TG has zero interest in expanding the power base why has it accepted a $455 million credit form the World Bank for the construction of critical high voltage transmission infrastructure that will support electrification of the southern and northwestern regions of the country.

Are you implying they will simply use this money for something else or default on delivering the infratsructure

O&W I don't think anyone can argue against that .... until that point we continue to build a consortia that removes as much doubt as possible

Each to their own. I'll view it as positive and you can wallow in your own self pity and continue to view your investment in KIBO as a mistake.

Tosh old bean. GE would not pen an agreement on the basis they would miss out. Yes its not costing them anything in terms of cash but in terms of reputation it would be huge to be associated with a company that didnt land a power deal.

Shrubby I would agree. I don't think its unreasonable to assume that once SML / PPA are complete then FC will follow quickly. I don't think we are the only ones waiting for the TG to sort themselves out.

Now clearly thats five days LC has not been working on SML / PPA ...... but there again what else is there to do. balls in TG court ... if you dont want to play someone else will

Which as CF points out ... the content or the implied content that was shared with the board was freely in the public domain and came from a tweet from someone called Thabit Senior, who resides in Tanzania and whom many Kibo board members follow, as he provides on the ground insight into government goings on, certainly nothing “inside” I can assure you.

I would have thought the timing and dates were based on the fact that an SML / PPA would have been agreed. I don't think its a requirement for the SDA but cnt see SEPCO progressing if they weren't in place or going to be in place.

The trouble with AIM is everyone is obsessed with ramping / deramping to the point it becomes self serving and everyone is a ramper or deramper. The majority of people have no agenda and are genuine. Yes there are those that deliberately take advantage and should be outed. Most though just want to share what they feel is a good trade / investment OR share there thoughts as to why something should be avoided. They then become convinced that a contrary view is sinister. Every one who holds wants others to buy that's natural and anyone that's been burnt doesn't want it to happen to others. There are good arguments and valid points and there are stupid arguments and poor constructed points. There are others just want to have a bit of fun, interaction and no doubt wind a few people up because they can.

There again you can't claim that statements made on a BB don't affect the shareprice and be concerned about ramping / deramping. If it doesn't make a difference people wouldn't do it and if it doesn't make a difference why obsess about it.

I firmly believe that the GoT will issue KIBO an SML. I don't think that is misleading anyone and anyone that reads this and then buys KIBO taking that as fact deserves to get burnt. Yes there is a risk that it might not happen but that risk is small. By its very definition investing / trading is a gamble as there is no guaranteed return. So KIBO is a gamble but the odds are good.

Perhaps we should indicate / discuss a confidence factor in whether the GoT will issue KIBO a SML before the end of September and end of December.

97% before September.
99.9% before December.
