RE: Russian steelmaker Evraz to be deleted from FTSE indices15 Mar 2022 09:12
I am invested here - Do i have some concerns? Yes. Do I think that we are delisted? No. Do I know that if the suspension is lifted can we trade on the LSE - YES. The whole system at present for EVR is what it is and is frustrating - I was intending to hold this potentially forever and although I do not have a crystal ball I still believe the likely worst case scenario is still better than where we are at present. To clarify - likely that the suspension will run for a few more weeks (end of war may be required as a lot of this is political). The sanctions on steel (company not sanctioned) will ease off over time as steel will be required in EU and anyway the market will buy it somewhere (perhaps not at full value but still at a profit). Do we stay on LSE? Possibly but depends on how welcome we are and in what state but we can always move market. So likely outcome is that in a few months/years we are back in some form likely to have paid out some dividends at a high rate as a % and perhaps never reaching the previous heights but should still be significantly higher than where we are now but perhaps only 2-3 times. My honest views - all of this could happen slower/quicker but the above is most likely (although there are better/worse scenarios this is middle of road) GLA
Dividends - so stating that if RAowned one share in say any other British company they would also not be able to pay a dividend!! I don’t see any other company he has shares in not paying their dividends????
i have averaged down to just over a £ and am relatively happy with this investment - not as high risk as some I have but highest reward in my view. As stated previously - every day without sanctions is another few million in the bank (more than $250m every month) and we all know that their will be a buyer for our goods no matter what it is just at what price? (China always want a good deal) but also our North american arm will still be highly lucrative. If the dividend gets paid I will own my shares for just under 70 p and believe that the reward at that point compared to risk will be huge! IWe all know SP will reduce on ex-divi day but not by the 38p in my view ($ gettting stronger) and as such I have no intentions of selling perhaps ever if they keep paying a good divi. Could be life-changing this for lots and this type of opportunity does not come along often but do not risk more than you can afford and DYOR GLA.
Also means that evraz have had 2 months with no sanctions/ restrictions and will have made quite a bit of money in these 2 months which should also ensure liquidity. These 2 months May be criticial as means divi will be paid as not as much risk because the buffer if these 2 months still have to be accounted for (and with prices of commodities rising I am sure they were very good months). GLA
Bought more - using profits from my oil shares but will mean no profit if goes Pete tong! Average still a £1 even after purchase but if dividend gets paid I will be happy. GLA
Happy to do bet David but don’t think you will ever pay me! You say the share price will be 68p or less on ex divi day - and I say not. I would say a gentleman’s yet of just a small amount say £1k will suffice and bank transfer will do - I can give you details whenever you wish. Happy to pay if that price is reached any time before as well
do you want to bet on that? I have held shares where the fall was much less the day after (PBR.A) adn there is usually a spike in price beforehand in most cases (or did you conveniently forget to mention that aspect?)
Americans live a bargain - watch this rise - they don’t care about nationality when comes to making money. We should learn from them- fu same take, dividends, fcf etc stuff loyalty - watch the rise now DYOR
RA was invited to the talks by Ukraine not Russia. Hence he could be above this all by both sides as you are correct previous friend of putin but did move away and make himself high profile to be less of a target. I can’t see this gooing much below £1 - there are thousands of jobs in USA to consider and also they need steel - they do provide a high percentage of us railways! This will not imo be sanctioned as uk with significant USA assets. It may take a while (or not) depending on outcome over next week or so but will pay the dividend in my view as announced and RA will want it also as he will want the cash! It is sometimes that simple as majority shareholder
Cards on table - just bought at 130 - not worried if drops a few pence more. Downside potential even to less than a 100. Upside if works out - over 600. People sometimes wait and miss out but if it goes over 300 and pays dividends I will be over the moon
RE: Evraz is a British multinational company!1 Mar 2022 09:29
Yes they can but will have the money set aside so unlikely - although the company will also drop out of the ftse 100 by cop today as market cap is not in top 100 which also means that they will have iis not putting funds in which can impact sp. I am invested and just giving facts- still think it will do well but is a risk and this may not be the bottom (likely the day after dividend)
Just waiting on update to get figure , production expected was forecast quite low and we missed target last year- if near upper end or above I expect substantial rise - think it is that simple so if we are over 50k per day substantial more fcf whereas at 44k more than half is hedged- just a month to go
Ammu nothing to do with this board - my thoughts are I hope both companies do brilliant this year (as invested in both) and looking forward to 24th March for next update from ENQ as sure the figures will be great - and the same expectation for Tullow. Both survived and hope go from strength to strength.
Squid - another way of looking at 50% hedged is 50% unhedged - which at say $89 still gives a not too shabby $83.5 average and in my books around $650 m fcf. Not too bad either and if we overproduce on this conservative figure or Poo is higher more than €700m fcf. Not too bad in my books
