More or Less is a super program. Did they talk about a figure for “excess deaths” in 2020 and 2021 which I think would be a useful measure. Another figure that would be interesting would be a figure for years of life lost as a result of Covid ie if someone was expected to live to 84 but died at the age of 80 because of Covid then that would be 4 years lost. That could then be related to the total cost of dealing with Covid.

Me too Rookie .. I did a top up too on BOR today funded by selling a few RKH; wanted a better balance between the 2 companies. Still have a much bigger holding in RKH but just felt there is an opportunity for some quite big gains on BOR in the near future. I can see BOR 10 bagging before RKH but none of us know for sure!! We all live in hope!

Hi WIP so sorry about your upsetting and tragic experiences with Covid; there is no doubt it is a terrible condition and watching the TV programme “Caring for Derek” with Kate Garroway really brought home the appalling effects it can have.
I saw that FOI request too and I believe there have been other recent international research studies highlighting the extent to which Covid casualties have been exaggerated. It’s just so frustrating that news is often presented in such a biased and distorted way it really does make you wonder what you should believe.

Unbelievable that even on the 10 o clock news bulletins last night after the US markets ended up on the day the dopey media were still banging on about turmoil on the markets! Surprise surprise this morning the FTSE is well on its way back to 7500. I really do hate the way the media over dramatise and exaggerate what is happening because it causes huge extra distress and anxiety and it’s just so ignorant! Jeremy Vine this morning was banging on about 150,000 deaths from Covid when nearly all the research is now saying deaths as a direct result of Covid and much much lower than this.

What Putin is saying loud and clear to the west is stop sticking your nose into Ukrainian affairs by trying to get them to join NATO. In any relationship both sides have to be aware of what really matters to the other side (same in a marriage) and Ukraine becoming part of NATO is a red line as far as Russia is concerned and the West have to respect that. It is important to Russia that there is a buffer zone between Russia and NATO and unfortunately for Ukraine they were/are that zone. Western insensitivity to Russia has played a part in this too. None of this is helped by the fact that Putin has been in power for20 years and any leader in power for that long starts to lose touch with reality sadly and start to make bad decisions; Thatcher and Blair are good examples closer to home.

Why so many tiny trades this morning?

Thanks Falky .. I must be honest and say every time I have contacted Sam at RKH he has always replied and been as honest and helpful as he is allowed to be so I do find some of the stuff aimed at him a bit over the top but I think he just ignores it which he is perfectly entitled to do.

Falky .. any thoughts as of now with todays closing prices which looks the better bet BOR or RKH? The RKH posters don’t seem to like or trust Sam Moody very much but Sea Lion looks more likely in the shorter term. On the other hand BOR owns all its reserves (until a farm out) and has a very suppressed share price! Tricky one.

BOR spent several years before the Darwin discovery bouncing around between 50p and 75p before any discovery was confirmed. Now that we know good quality oil and gas is definitely there and in big quantities surely any positive hint or news that progress towards development is possible will see this shot back to 50p? That would be a great start to getting back to where we should be. I have a much larger holding in RKH than BOR but hopefully they can fire each other up.

I have been trading in and out of BOR for last few weeks buying in at around 1p and selling at 1.25p where possible making a couple of hundred quid each time. Was going to sell out again mid afternoon on the spike but got distracted by a client who didn’t leave till just before 5! Made a lot more money as a result of the distraction than I would ever get from that client so thanks to him!!

Bailiff .. do you have any air miles so you can upgrade Mrs B to business?
Air miles are one of the best things ever; allow us to do one long haul trip a year in business class to somewhere warm and sunny in dark winter months for very little money using the companion ticket .. it’s an absolute no brainer.

My wife was very excited this morning when she got her morning tea and I told her about the positive RNS. Very hard to explain 9 hours later why the share price was down 12%!! B******d if I know and certainly impossible to explain it in ordinary plain English!!

Totally agree Crogy .. a strong recovery on no news and a sharp fall on a good positive RNS! It stinks the place out to be honest. Just don’t trust the boys in the City they are just in for themselves rewarded when they succeed and rewarded when they fail; nice money if you can get it! I guess that’s the free market for you and if we are honest most of us enjoy living in this environment compared with the alternatives! Will certainly not complain when AIM takes this up to new highs!!

SNG are right back to where they were in July 2020 before they announced positive results re initial Covid trials. Shows how long it can take to set up human trials and carry out the testing! SNG do have other pipelines but shows importance of not having all eggs in one basket. Hopefully SAR will have 3-4 bites of the cherry.

Okay so unusual positive price action last week and suddenly a very positive RNS out of the blue today. No one can tell me people were not buying without some sort of inside information.

It is bizarre to see a 50% rise in 3 days on no news. If it is down to people”in the know” (aka inside information) topping up in advance of news that is the sort of thing that has really cheesed me off over the years with the stock market generally. It should be so easy to track a pattern of trades before news is announced and find out who the culprits were but it never happens!
That said just happy to see SP heading up again and relieved!

I feel a lot happier when this sits above 4p because above 4p for my remaining 66% of shares plus the 34% already sold give me an overall gain on initial purchase of 500%. Anything above 4p is good, above 6p is very good, above 9p splendid, above 15p absolutely marvellous and above 28p spectacular and seriously life enhancing. Have found the experience of the drop over the last 6 months quite bruising mentally after the excitement of last July August but then that is just impatience really. Having waited over 10 years so patiently it’s strange that one should become impatient now but the mind plays silly tricks!

I only have limited LSE access to details of share trades but I can’t see any sales at all in last 2 hours just a sea of buys and a few grey unknowns!
That’s pretty unusual and bodes well!

I have got myself wound up by the lack of broker activity but in the long term it’s product development, licensing deals, income and merger and takeover activity that will drive the price .. all of which will be announced in due course when the company is ready. Positive broker research and price targets can influence the price short term but it will be those other factors that will take us to the nirvana of 28p plus. I do not think PH will have inside information to share with private or institutional investors so don’t worry about it. If you are holding here long term all that really matters will be concrete news from SAR. Rest of it is just all short term hot air
