RE: Canada - Overseas shipbuilding requirement17 Feb 2023 21:07
I looked up that Canadian vessel, the Dorset Spirit, when Kaeren posted the link to the Sea Rose. Wanted to see if was part of the same company that was working oil field the Sea Rose is at. Although it wasn't that far away, it seems not, afaics.
Because you should... Always... Expect the unexpected.
Could be the mantra of owning this share. :) These last two news releases are just housekeeping, imo. It's the next "big one" you have to be in for. That or details of the accounts.
No mention on the fabrication of two of the barges that were going to be moved up to Methil, starting last month. Would imagine if all the jigs and patterns were already set up in Belfast, replicating all that would be quite a job for very little gain. Although, they wouldn't have got far, would have been interesting to know if they had and that Methil had the work to keep them going.
From the trading update. 30/12/22 "As an immediate step, the Company will move the fabrication of two barges of the Cory contract into Methil commencing January 2023. This will keep production flowing through Methil's fabrication halls and is also expected to speed up delivery of the barges to the Cory Group, with two sites (Belfast and Methil) working on six barges in tandem. This will have the added benefit of freeing up the Belfast facility sooner for contracts that Management believes it is well positioned to win in 2023."
Serious question. Jono ,how do you know that Nobby rec'ed another post? You used to be able to see who ticked up/down a post on the old iii boards but didn't realise you couldhere as well.
RE: Navantia - Spanish pitch to sell ships to Australia16 Feb 2023 11:22
Yes, me, last night. Unless it was also deleted. lol Not a website. A registered division of the company. Same as the four uk ones. Thinking ahead? I presume JW wants to go back to his roots with BAE and get a branch in Oz so he can retire somewhere warm.
Since they last updated it (kind of) and changed some the wording to include"stockbrokers", are there any actual "institutional investors" on the list of signifcant shareholders. Or are they all just nominee accounts. Maybe Sankofa Strategic Equity Fund? Not sure if that counts. Anyone know? https://www.harland-wolff.com/investors/significant-shareholders/
BTW, if the PR department is looking in, it's still wrong. Both the total issue and some of the percentages. fyi. :)
RE: Recent filing of a H&W company set of accounts.15 Feb 2023 22:48
Read it. None the wiser. TBH. lol Looks like it's just about the holdings company that changed it's name from the group holdings company. Although, noted that there is a dormant Australian branch. Bonzer! :)
Just had a quick look at 2014 just using a 1 day chart and it all looks about right. https://invst.ly/-a274 I bought early 2012 @ 13.68 after which it dipped, typical, then went back up to the mid teens. After that it just kept dropping to all the way to sub 0.5p. Just as the chart above shows. What you may be seening is 12.88p. IDK, I guess I may be adjusting it until it makes sense with what I remember.
