RE: Avant 3029 Jul 2023 09:16
Sorry, to interrupt the various bun fights but, fwiw, here is some ship related stuff. :)
Well, I've been keeping an eye on the En Avant 30 and after a brief stop in the Firth of Forth it carried on south. It was around Berwick-upon-Tweed late last night. Noticed a couple of things. Firstly it's been sailing with restricted manoeuvrability all this time. Which usually denotes that it may be already towing something. Secondly, it has also been sailing in tandem with another vessel, the German based Fairplay38, also showing restricted manoeuvrability. They have both turned and are heading back north this morning.
Exciting stuff, hey?
Meanwhile, nothing, afaics, on the horizon or currently in at Belfast. And Appledore still has the big doors shut with nothing to see down there, atm.
Oh, and the Venture is just off Clacton. Thought that when it started heading north it might be on for a Methil pick up.
So, the scores so far in this apparent hottly contested barge-off, with Methil having had a late start, is...
Belfast 3- Methil 0. The winner will go on to represent the UK (not Ireland) in Euro-barge24.
If they have finished by then, that is. ;)
Have a nice weekend and play nice. :)
