By definition a 'Resource' is as follows; "Mineral resources that are potentially valuable, and for which reasonable prospects exist for eventual economic extraction." That said, the more tonnes and ideally the more metal per tonne, the more likely it is to be economic. So the more metal per tonne the better!

The exploration upside here is worth the country risk to be honest. Without it, this is a bit of a marginal investment at the moment as they don't have a resource yet.

I've not heard about the lopolith before your post Tiger. I'm no geologist but it's certainly an exciting prospect to say the least. The exploration upside from the area Rainbow are located could be massive. If that thing is a huge high grade lump of rare earth ore then this will propel the share price to the moon. Whether your hypothesis (and presumably Rainbow have the same idea as you) is true or not it's certainly intriguing.

People starting to get very jittery here and the price being knocked down with ease. Just what is going on with that resource estimate.?

If the resource can be shown to have upwards of 0.5% tin then that would be like having 1.3% copper throughout. Tin currently sells for $9+/lb so it would be very nice to have it included. Zinc, lead, copper, silver, gold, indium, selenium and now tin. Is there anything that's not in this resource?

I think Crestgate got 100,000,000 shares in FCR when the made the sale. So 49,000,000 net to MAFL. Sod all really. FCR would have to go up 10 times from it's current price for the shares MAFL own to really be worth anything of note (even then, they'd only be worth about �540,000 to MAFL).

Are FCR going to get their maiden JORC resource out before MAFL?

There is no way of knowing categorically that this resource will be economic. There has even been a PEA performed, let alone the rest of it, PFS, BFS blah blah blah. That said, a big enough resource will attract interest.

Just have to wait and see I suppose. Need to make sure MAFL get a very nice upgrade in the resource before we start to count chickens.

Maybe Alistair has fecked off to ventures new or a long holiday now that he knows the resource upgrade is going to bring him in a nice windfall and there's not a lot of point hanging around anymore.

Zinc, lead, copper, gold and silver prices have all risen quite nicely over the last few weeks. This will all have to be taken in to account when coming to a sale value for LS-1.

While I agree that Rainbow is a good little company that seems to be good value at the current price, I'm not sure that I agree with your price predictions...yet, that is. Rainbow don't even have a JORC at the moment so there is no telling how long they might be mining 5000tpa for. I have heard Martin Eales say in some interview that the current Gasagwe mine might have enough ore to produce for between 2-4 years (I can't remember exactly but it certainly wasn't more than 4 years). That said, if they can find more ore in what has historically been an area that has been produced rare earths then possibly your price targets could be achieved. We need reserves and ideally a better rare earth basket price (a smaller discount rate or higher RE market prices, ideally both). There was a mention in some company literature (probably a presentation but again I forget) of Rainbow building a processing facility to increase the grade of the concentrate they produce. That should get them a better basket price from Tyssenkrupp. A long way to go yet and a few things need to be clarified but it's all going well so far. The risk in Burundi is always going to be a factor but nothing can be done about that. That's Africa for you.

That would certainly make sense. Let's hope he's doing it because he's been furnished with some positive information.
