Hazrat, you would expect that anything sold above 10,000 tonnes per annum would still incur a discount although hopefully not 70%. Even a 50% discount on say 5000 tonnes to someone else would yield significant free cash flow.

A very well timed buy this morning if I do say so myself. I wasn't going to buy just yet but I felt I couldn't wait any longer as it was about to turn. Exploration results are about a 6 or so weeks away.

All very interesting. If that big anomaly turns out to be a huge lump of high-grade rare-earth ore then we might just see some fireworks here. I bought more here first thing this morning. Country risk is high (although there doesn't seem to be any problems at the moment) and we don't know how profitable this operation will be at the moment but it does all seem very promising. The exploration and production is the most exciting thing here. If rare-earth prices keep increasing there is the real potential to multi-bag many times over.

I've never heard 42,000 tpa quoted before I don't think. I think Rainbow must be very confident of increasing production toward that number. Where they spent extra money getting plant that is capable of ramping up to 42,000 tpa or whether the plant they bought just happened to be capable of that is unknown. I might email Martin. What is probably the case is that they spent extra money intentionally so that the plant would be possible to upgrade at a later date should further processing capacity be required. The initial outlay was low so seemed a prudent thing to do given the potential of the area.

I've found something of potential interest on the latest PowerPoint. Page 20 (as written on the page itself, or page 21 of the PDF) states the processing plant is theoretically capable of processing up to 42,000 tonnes per annum. That's 7 times the projected rate of 6,000 tonnes per annum. Why would they overspec the plant quite so much? I appreciate further capex would be required to get it to run at 42,000 tpa, but surely they could have saved money building something that could only ever operate at say 10,000 tpa. Perhaps they really believe they could get close to that figure in time with good exploration. "Simple efficient gravity separation processing facility - 5tph throughput (theoretical processing capability of plant up to 42ktpa" Very interesting...

Indeed, it would be a very productive raising and I don't think many would have a problem with it given the potential value it might unlock.

Nice calcs Tiger. If you'd accounted for the fact the anomaly is an eclipse and not rectangular your calcs would likely have been very close to Eales'. All very exciting. Exploration upside could be massive here. My only concern is just how profitable is this operation? At the moment it's not possible to know from the information that's publicly available. Presumably if the exploration turns up really good results they will be looking for money to expanding processing capacity.

Don't forget the indium and selenium and also the wider the potential the license area may have which is now de-risked to an extent due to the proving up of this initial resource. That said it is only an Indicated and Inferred resource with the Central Sector only being inferred. I don't think prospective buyers will be after this initial deposit itself but rather the potential of the license area as a whole.

I doubt many would want to mine the deposit based on the copper content alone. There's only 73m lbs contained in the resource. You certainly wouldn't get a lot for an indicated copper resource of 40m lbs and an inferred copper resource of some 30m lbs. It's the multi-metallic nature of the deposit that's of interest and additionally the potential other deposits that might lie in the license. A producing mining company in the area might well be interested in all of that.

My point is you don't know that is what is happening yet you say it like it is. You do this quite regularly u696061. You shouldn't. If you don't like derampers who turn up spouting nonsense you should not state things that are not known to be true. They may very well be talking to companies about selling the resource to them but we have no indication that that is going on.

I don't think MAFL/THC will be doing any more drilling in LS if MAFL have to fund it as drilling is costly and how exactly would MAFL pay for it given their tiny market cap and low cash? Undertaking a significant drilling program costs millions of dollars. I suspect MAFL/THC will simply look to quantify the tin, indium and selenium and then look to sell the license assuming no one fancies coming in to JV the area.

It's a very nice doubling but I can't see any mention of the indium and selenium. I might email MAFL and ask what is going to be done to quantify their amounts. Surely they must try to get some numbers as it will add extra value to the resource.

I'm not trying to deramp this, I am invested here. I am simply trying to remain objective weighing up the positives and negatives as I see them.

The FCR maiden resource is quite a lot bigger than MAFL's one from 2012 and there has been a thoroughly underwhelming share price response. I don't think there is much chance of MAFL getting the same tonnage or contained zinc/lead that FCR have but I suppose there are the other metals...

How is it definitely negative news? What if there's more work involved than they realised? What if they are talking to potential buyers in the background? There's a lot of what ifs to be going around saying the delay is because of bad news.
